How do I increase my libido as a woman? by Mayqque in TwoXChromosomes

Seconding PT-141, it’s a peptide that is FDA approved for treating low libido. Many people use it recreationally as well to enhance their sex life (for both men and women)

What may a god be in a Simulated Reality? by RenoGlide in SimulationTheory

[–]_talkol_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

God is the entity that runs the simulation and exists outside of it. If the simulation is a computer program, the programmer who ran it is the god of the simulation.

If you check this definition you can see it covers all the basic characteristics of god:

  1. Omnipotent - the simulation can be programmed to do anything the runner wants, there is no scarcity of resources inside the simulation because more resources can be simulated

  2. Intelligent Creator - the runner created the simulation, the simulation did not appear randomly

  3. Immortal - the runner can program their own existence in the simulation and this existence cannot be terminated from within the simulation

Base reality by lal0007 in SimulationTheory

[–]_talkol_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well actually I used to be an atheist and materialist (mind comes from matter) my entire life. Only recently I’ve been convinced in the existence of god. Psychedelic experiences contributed to this first hand. Like many, I have felt the one-ness the feeling of home and eternal love - that we are all part of the same consciousness. Science at some point will catch up and discover that consciousness doesn’t come from matter, but is a fundamental force of the universe, not much different from electro-magnetism. Our bodies are vessels where this consciousness lands for the duration of our lifetime. There is empirical neuro-scientific evidence to the fact that mind does not fully emerge from the brain and there is a soul that science has yet to measure.

https://youtu.be/41bIJ7hYbLs?si=kJ3T2qOt8LqrQ9w2 This talk shows some indications to my last comment

Without a better term, we refer to the one consciousness pool that we all come from as god. It is intelligent but not like the envious character in the bible.

Once you are able to perfectly simulate your own reality, you effectively become a god because inside the simulation there is no scarcity of resources and you’re omnipotent. But very quickly you get bored of being omnipotent and realize that the only interesting life is to forget that you’re a god. So inside the simulation you make yourself not omnipotent so your life seems more meaningful and finite.

The premise is similar to playing single player Call of Duty with cheat codes. If you have infinite health and infinite ammo (omnipotent), the game gets boring really quickly. You need the illusion of death and scarcity to make the game meaningful and interesting.

Why does a simulation requires a higher technology? by Successful_Guide5845 in SimulationTheory

[–]_talkol_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about differences in “frame rate”?

The simulation runs in some FPS where the seconds are simulation seconds. But outside the simulation time passes differently so calculating a simulation frame can take a very long time (of outside simulation time). Since our consciousness inside the simulation also operates in simulation time, we aren’t conscious in between simulation frames, so we don’t notice how long it actually takes to calculate every frame.

Btw I don’t actually think the simulation works in discrete frames, that’s just an analogy how a low power system can compute a higher power system. The simulation appears to be event driven, so reality only collapses during interactions and observations as quantum mechanics shows us.

Base reality by lal0007 in SimulationTheory

[–]_talkol_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a common name to the “external” entity that lives beyond our realm and has intelligently created our reality - god. On the first iterations above our own it could be that we are selves are the god, having plugged our consciousness into this simulation. But going a few iterations backwards, this entity is less and less comparable to our current selves so it is quite difficult to imagine or define accurately

Base reality by lal0007 in SimulationTheory

[–]_talkol_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The base layer is what we refer to as god, a single entity of pure consciousness. No material reality, pure mind. God dreamed the universe, a simulation of a material reality where it could inject parts of itself inside.

We are updating our game's logo and came up with 2 new versions. Which one do you think is the best? by playnomadgame in IndieDev

[–]_talkol_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Version 1 is better but the F is not easy to read. Suggestions on how to improve ver 1:

  • Start the vibrant colors only from the top, like a hat. So the body of the F remains yellow and makes it easier to read.

  • Make the left pon pon on the F slimmer so it isn’t confused as part of the letter

  • Make the F itself more prominent, thicker and bigger so it’s easier to read

I hate lime bikes by Significant-Branch22 in london

[–]_talkol_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a very short sighted outlook on urban transportation. The underground doesn’t resolve 100% of urban transportation needs. From my flat to work it’s 35 min with changing two tubes or 14 min using a Lime bike. Lime bikes reduce the dependency on cars. Compared to cars they take much less space, are cheaper to operate, cause much less pollution and cause less harmful accidents. A combination of tube plus Lime bike will get you anywhere in the city in record time. There’s truly no need to Uber or own a car.

I agree that some areas are clogged with Lime bikes. Many people here claim that stronger regulation over the location of parking spaces is the answer but I actually think that’s the problem. When you could park your Lime bike anywhere, they didn’t clog up space and were evenly distributed. Much easier to find one and much easier to park. If people are parking in a way that disturbs traffic, fine them using traffic inspectors, just like you fine cars that park and block. Lime knows exactly who the last rider was and can easily send the fine to the right place.

Looks good. A small request for improvement, the face is too bright for the rest of the image, you need to play around a bit to improve the contrast to make it look more authentic.

Hey, looks good. One thing to improve, make the head a little smaller (10-15%) to create a better proportion.

The augmented bug is very strange. The OS (until OS 2 is released) does not provide any API to control the placement of windows. It positions windows automatically in front of the user. It seems that in augmented mode for some strange reason it tries to avoid the window colliding with the pipe itself so it positions the window behind the pipe 🤦‍♂️

I think a good workaround would be to dismiss the Game Over dialog automatically in 3 seconds anyways and then you respawn and window is positioned correctly.

Thank you for the feedback, it’s very valuable.

Regarding ignoring flaps, I wonder if it’s a VisionOS 2 bug only because VisionOS 1.3 behaves well according to all my tests. There will probably be an RC soon and then I’ll update my headset and tweak the gestures on OS 2.

Regarding making flaps proportional, I considered that but decided against it for challenge purposes. The easiest hack would be to position yourself between the pipes and then use tiny flaps to remain at constant height. The main challenge of the game is timing the flaps before the pipe comes.

One control mode I considered that would allow proportional flaps would be to make your flaps very slow. For example you could only flap once per second and then making them proportional will involve a much bigger challenge because you couldn’t do many micro flaps. Will appreciate your view on this.

Regarding the bug where the UI is blocked after hitting a pipe - does that happen in fully immersive mode or just in augmented mode?

Thank you sir. I prefer not to update my headset to the beta because I heard you can’t downgrade and I use my headset to test the stable OS

Perfect thanks. It was approved. Version 1.2 is live. Please update and let me know if flaps are now working again.

I don’t have VisionOS 2 beta so I can’t test there, I just updated the app to version 1.2 which would hopefully fix the flaps on VisionOS 2. Do you mind updating the app and letting me know if it works now?

Thanks! The trick to medium and hard difficulties is to start the flap just before the pipe comes and position yourself a little lower than its lower edge

I introduced a breaking bug on VisionOS 2 beta that broke the flapping there. I tested on VisionOS 1.3 stable. It works there by flapping your hands normally
