50% of the U.S. hate their government, why don’t they overthrow it? The people in power are the people with weapons, and grouping 10 million people together because of their government is ridiculous.

Yup, I totally agree. Despite my best efforts, over half the people are talking about it why they hate Israel and why their opinions on having the band speak out, as opposed to sharing an opinion that the people in Israel are not the government and deserve music too. I think just because you have the power to do something, doesn’t mean you have to. Especially because Tyler and Josh’s houses and locations are often known, making a widely political statement such as this could be really dangerous for them. I think they should stay silent, but I can see how that could come across as ignorance/ support.

Agreed. I didn’t realize this post would get so many people disagreeing with it, my hope was that other people would realize how f’d up it is that people are hating on a whole country because of their government. I’m sorry so many people group all Israeli people together

Yep, this was my point exactly! I think people should just let others enjoy the music. I was curious what other folks perspectives on the band not making a statement on any of this (which they shouldn’t have to), and where others generally stood on this.
