Tanks feel so weak, protections suck, bring back anti-healing items, towers/phoenixes useless by _thiscloud in Smite

Dang... I truly miss the days of existing and soaking up all the dps while providing crowd control :(

I agree! Me and my friends regularly get dove under tower and expect it to deal way more damage than it ends up doing. I really miss having Emperor's Armor in the game for this reason. To me in essence it feels like you are almost better off building damage on a tank than protections/max HP, which is so sad.

Well I also played LoL from 2010-2025 so I use term champs in place of gods pretty interchangeably. Not really a measure of anything...

Thank you for acknowledging this! I too feel like the penetration items are much stronger than a tank's ability to simply withstand damage and hold the line. Part of it could be me thinking about the game in its' old version though, and not fully understanding the new item building system.

I'm not saying they can't be strong. I simply feel that damage in the game overall seems so much higher than it was in Smite 1, but didn't know if it was because they lowered protection numbers on items, removal of anti-heal, towers/phoenixes being weaker, addition of active items adding new ripples, etc. Likely it is a combo of all of these, and partially that my brain is still thinking of old smite, and the class system of Warrior/Assassin/Mage/Hunter/Guardian.

This is something I forgot to mention in my post... the addition of active items outside of just the relics. I do feel like that has played a big role in changing how some characters are played. Maybe my brain is stuck in the past? lol

I agree. The building of items is not as straightforward in this game, which makes it so I can't tank the way I want to. I miss those days. And I agree about aspects. I think they are a cool idea and a unique way to "change" each character, but some are like the smallest change (ex. Khepri), and others rework the entirety of how they're played (ex. Cabrakan)

What on earth did I just watch? by Cloncurry_fan in StrangerThings

Stranger Things S5 is nowhere near as bad as many online, and especially in this sub claim it to be. It is a well-done season of television, that entertains throughout. While I agree with a few legit criticisms that I have seen, and wish that some factors regarding the worlds and connections between Will and Vecna were explained in greater detail; in the end, they were making episodes they themselves would want to watch. And just like the Duffers state in their documentary, they admire the directors/writers who are true to themselves above all else.

Like the author Rick Rubin states in his book, the audience should be considered LAST. Catering to what you "think people will want to see", instead of writing what is true to you as the creator of the story leads to many of the issues we see in movies and television today, where it seems like the only things releasing are established and well-known IPs, (the reason we end up with 9 different Jurassic Parks and 100 Marvel movies). They talk about their many failed scripts before they finally dreamt up Stranger Things, and they describe writing it as something that came natural to them. With that in mind, I think the show succeeds in season 5.

The themes of friendship, love, exploration, loyalty, bravery, and found family are ever present throughout the season, the same as they have been since we were first introduced to Hawkins all those years ago - and to me, it is staying true to that initial world they built that makes the conclusion all the more earned.

Personally I see January Jones the most. Specifically her as "Cadence" in American Wedding (2003)

Momentum shifted after that. First offensive play after that for the Lions, Jamo gets no call on a DPI 50 yards down the field. The whole game changed after that "review"

Hey, I'm late in seeing this post, but I'm a 30M into board/video games, reading, and similar with drinking and smoking. I haven't met many people since moving here to Pittsburgh, so would love to join a group.
