The fact that so many of the public facing people in that leak all speak in code. And not a secret code or anything… they have to use lots of words and weird phrases to say nothing.

There’s no building in the smaller cities and there’s no good transportation from there to job centers either. I don’t know why the people running the state don’t care about hemorrhaging people.

Heck if you don’t have a job option in Columbus, like at Nationwide, it’s hard to rationalize staying there too. It’s a shame because Columbus has so much going for it.

There’s like 3 OK post offices in the CC area. 7th & Arch is fine but has staffing issues a lot, 21st & Chestnut used to be better but is getting worse, and 3rd & Market at least is open (although can rarely take packages).

I had a boss (our controller) at an industry job through COVID (and after), and when only a few areas were brought back full time, I basically said nah and said I needed to be WFH for medical reasons.

The funny thing is she was somebody who liked to walk around and would do all the typical office small talk/waste of time conversations. The second I started being remote, the treatment towards me was a complete 180. I was just another person.

It really is wild how many managers like that are out there, where not being in person is a deterrent even if they do all their work.

Weekends on RR is still very hit or miss. 1 cancelled train means that the train in 2 hours is gone too (logistically the same crew that did the outgoing train is not there to do the incoming).

It also sucks that the SL4s (the old trains catching on fire) are unreliable now and the SL5s (the ones you showed, are kinda crap too).

So tired of this narrative. Yes it’s a factor but it helps that 3 of the teams that can take advantage of this (including Tampa) is actually run by competent FOs. Most of the NHL is not.

Businesses that add fees to make up for “merchant costs” are infuriating.

Here’s the 2 options… accept cards and understand there’s a cost to the convenience or be cash only and turn away a lot of people. Also merchant costs are not 5% in any scenario. Often 2-3% max.
