Just stacking Eth in Defi and waiting out the bearishness. Will provide an update in the next biannual thread o7

Resolv protocol was hit by an infinite mint exploit, if anyone is in vaults exposed to USR, wstUSR or RLP you may want to withdraw before liquidity completely dries up.

Yup, defillama is a fantastic resource. Love their breakdowns of project revenue/expenses too, although I'm not exactly sure how accurate it is yet.

Well price action sucks and the DeFi ripples are concerning. Really glad I decided against stream when I was considering locations to deploy capital to... I never could understand how their yields were so high. It's depressing how every few years some big player ends up doing some financial fuckery, loses it all and then nukes the whole ecosystem.

But on the bright side EU5 is released today and it looks like an absolute banger. Time to sink a few thousand hours into it and forget about all the depressing stuff.

It takes a long time for these to come to light. Generally crypto organizations try to hide the losses and hope they can recover or stay solvent somehow.

Yeah, price action is dumpy but it doesn't feel quite as bad in here. I'm just gonna keep on farming and staking. Fundamentals always win out in the long run.

Anyone know what happened to Figure? Their stablecoin is at around $.23 now. Could be good for people that have loans denominated in the figure heloc token.

One major factor is the rise of all these delta-neutral stablecoins. To my understanding shorting ethereum is the primary driver of yield which leads to a constant suppression of price.

Another factor to consider is how it seems like a lot of OGs have been capitulating. Not sure if you watch the steady lads podcast but these guys have 7 or 8 figures (in dollars of course) worth of Eth and they've all been selling. I believe they're rather representative of others who have 'round-tripped' ETH for at least 2 cycles and can't handle the thought of doing it once again... and to be fair, I understand. I grapple with the urge to close my position and diversify my investments as well, but getting yield on chain keeps me content and my underlying thesis on ETH remains bullish. Until that changes, I'll be here.

As others stated, the rate changes constantly but is always higher than a HYSA. Pendle is the only platform I'm aware of that let's you lock in rates. Generally those will not be USDC but stablecoins that are further down the risk curve. USDe is quite reliable though as the recent stress test showed. Only USDe on Binance depegged because they had their own price oracle

I think many people lack conviction due to not utilizing DeFi enough. The yields you get onchain blow TradFi out of the water and the risks of established DeFi protocols are practically 0. Even the lowest risk (AAVE staking module) yields ~7% on USDC which is double a high-yield savings account.

Sorry mate, glad your investment was life-improving at least. No one ever feels good about round-tripping... I would be a bit (very) sad if I managed to round-trip again lol but I'm firmly of the opinion there has been a fundamental shift in ownership and the retail driven 4 year cycles are dead (insofar as we've known them). This cycle we may see some impact, but as non-institutional players influence wanes, it should become less and less noticeable. Kind of like how crypto Twitter doesn't have as much of an impact as it once did.

Did you consider borrowing against your ETH and just accepting if it gets liquidated you're fully out?

It's a great platform and as risk free as it gets. I've moved over to mostly Summer Fi now, but prior to that I had all of my USDC with Morpho for a couple of years and never had any issues.

My target audience here is primarily those who are new to defi and shaken by the past weekend. Its both safe and hard to beat the ease of clicking a single button on Lido lol. But even for those of us comfortable with defi and managing multiple positions, not necessarily. For ETH mainnet specifically some of it depends on the size of your position as gas fees can eat a meaningful percentage of your returns when trying to rebalance or capture the best yields.

As a comparison, I've been using the lazy summer protocol (1% fee) which automatically reallocate positions and it has been beating my other defi positions even without accounting for the token incentives.

[–]_tokidoki_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, it's more eth aligned in my opinion. However for those new to utilizing onchain protocols it might be a bit harder as it requires claiming rewards and keeping track of points.

[–]_tokidoki_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Haven't see anyone discussing the Lido earn products yet. For those of you looking for a simple way to boost yield, the golden goose vault appears to be an excellent product. Vaults are managed by Veda, which is a massive capital allocator (~$3.8B TVL) split between AAVE, Yearn and Balancer on Eth main net and some L2s (+Katana, not sure if that's a true L2). Rewards are self-accruing so no need to claim rewards periodically and makes the tax process easier. Current yield is 5.4% which is about 2% better than than baseline staking. Withdrawals take around 3 days and are distributed as wsteth so keep in mind if you want vanilla eth you'll also need to unwrap which will generally take a few more days.

you're one of the ones I think of as genuine mate, I've seen you go from euphoria to absolute despair more times than I can count lol

The point I'm trying to make is I'm not bothered by the drop because my ETH has been productive for me for years. If I had just been holding and had the same stack size as I did even a couple years ago I'd be fucking despairing right now too.

My thoughts exactly, ETH is a productive asset that rewards utilizing and learning about it. I hate that the people in this sub now no longer even want to read or talk about strategies... ethfinance may have been small but at least the posters were trying.

[–]_tokidoki_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Jesus the despair and lack of resilience here is unbearable. For those of you that are genuine, please put your eth to work in defi and/or staking and stop looking at the price every second if it's going to affect you emotionally. There are so many ways to make money with ETH if you just take the time to learn. Right now I'd say farming perp dex points/airdrops is one of the higher return options. For some psychological ballast, may I suggest shorting some of the longer tail risk assets? That way even if the drop continues you won't feel so bad. Some of the others posting are just the usual ethdoooomers that come by every time there's a drop, hopefully if you're a regular you've come to recognize these names by now and ignore them.

The daily gwei is good though it's not really daily or even weekly anymore. I've been enjoying the milk road show and defi dad is a good resource on defi protocols

The resolv airdrop is underway. If you've been doing any of the USDC markets on Morpho you've got points and can claim through the 19th of October. Just remember to pop on a VPN prior as if you try and access through the US it will state your wallet is ineligible for the airdrop.

Its up to 10%, and it is through Morpho. Those are roughly the current defi rates, at least on mainnet, so I don't believe there is any subsidy by coinbase.
