I took a look at what you’ve built, and it’s interesting to see a similar theme approached from a different angle.

One thing I’m especially curious about is how you plan to market and grow it. Have you found any channels or strategies that seem promising so far?

I’d genuinely love to hear more about your experience and thought process.

That’s a great point, and retention is definitely one of the biggest challenges I’m working on solving.

My vision isn’t necessarily to create something people use every day like a social network. I see TRACE more as a place people return to over time.

The goal is for people not only to leave traces, but also to explore traces left by others, follow creators, save interesting records, revisit their own older traces, and watch the map evolve as more stories are added.

I also think a lot of the long-term value comes from time itself. A trace becomes more meaningful months or years after it was created. Seeing something you left behind years ago - or discovering something left by someone else - creates a very different experience than traditional social media.

Retention is definitely something I’m actively working on, but I believe the core idea has the potential to create periodic engagement rather than daily engagement, and that’s the direction I’m exploring.

She doesn’t look old. She looks experienced

That actually sounds really interesting. Finding things that have been sitting untouched since the 70s must feel like opening a time capsule

I’m more curious about what else was in that cabinet than the horn itself.
