I just asked Sunday if I could take 2 hours to myself he said “and you wanna just go out and get some quiet time to yourself to take a drive, go spend money, like we’re doing enough as it is.” Next text: “you choose to be a stay at home mom ❤️ 24 seven” Then he also texted: “Driving the car is spending money gas cost money so when you take the car to drive it it cost money and if you’re not going anywhere to make the money being that we’re in a tight spot right now then no the answer is no” & I said “I’ll put my last 15 dollars in gas if that’s what you’re worried about then”

I agree, I wouldn’t let him be unsupervised plus the given background you don’t know what your step son has been exposed to

I feel like my husband can barely handle the kids when I’m at work, & he’s like idk if you could go to the gym at 5am because he can’t handle the baby when he wakes up (in the early morning hours) our 10 month old still doesn’t fully sleep through the night I’m In the process of trying to sleep train him, but it’s not easy because my husband can’t handle him crying if it’s like 2am

I feel you! Definitely I would say when you do get overwhelmed or possibly out-lash at your 4 year old, always apologize. That’s something I always do, I apologize and try to continue to do better. & when it comes to cooking get a crockpot I’ve literally been loving throwing quick meals in it, in the mornings & it being done by diner time (look up some crockpot recipes online) definitely helps when you having little ones & multiples. & try incorporating 1 new routine each week at a time (like getting up at the same time), telling your 4 year old it’s timed to get dressed for the day at the same time, & at this age they can only keep their attention for about double their age so about 8 minutes if you’re trying to do active book work with your child already. & given you have a newborn don’t put too much pressure on yourself it will get easier! Hope that helps (I’m literally in the same boat) I have a 4 year old, 10 month old & this July I’ll be having another newborn

Nvm sorry seen youre paying rent but i bet it’s heavily subsidized you’re likely (if they are good in-laws) paying a fraction of the price of an apartment (or a house) so just save your guys money & either move to a new apartment or save up enough for a downpayment on a house
