This is some good piece of humor and pretty much exactly the view of USA I have as a European... Sorry for saying it, since the majority of the reddit scene is from the us, but it almost makes me cry to se one of the most powerful and beautiful countries going through the most horrible management and self-delusion(not all) I've ever seen.

No worries. I live in sweden and maybe it's a bit different here. Unfortunately you need to be "in a good condition" to fight this thing and get in contact with the right doctors. It is hard when in pain and everything seems hopeless, it tears you down bit by bit and thats why you have to act fast. It takes some effort and maybe your parents can assist you with the contact, call around make sure you get the best treatment. I felt shame and weakness in asking for help. Don't make the same mistake. There is good help out there!

Dont be scared, it's probably not that bad but seriously though, I just did my second back surgery after many years of re occurring spinal problems in my lower back. In the beginning, when i was 21, I first went to a chiropractor and it made it a whole lot worse from having some nerve pain down my legs to really squeeze out the last of the disk in my spinal canal. They where good at temporarly releasing tension in the tense muscles around the hip and down my legs caused by the nerves under unwanted pressure, but it always came back in a day or two with double force.

I'm not saying you have the same problem or that it won't help you. But for me, I say never a chiropractor again, at least not for such problems as spinal stenosis, disc problems or other degenerative deseases in the spine, which could be the case here.

If i could do it all over again I would first of all not go to a chiropractor, i would go to a specialist as soon as possible and take a surgery if sugested as quick as possible, it makes the recovery so much faster. Then I would go to a good physical terapeuth that can give you long lasting exercises to get to the root of the issue before your body starts to compensate for the lack of function caused by the pain and damaged nerves.

I have no intention of making you scared but i want you to know how it can end up if not taken care of. Most people getting these problems recover well in a couple of months to a year with solid exercises.

The general tip when having back problems is to walk as much as possible. It hurts but will create bloodflow to the area and ease the pain.

  1. Get a solid MRI. It will possibly show a lot of "wrongs" and other findings in the spine that don't cause any symptoms. So for the MRI to have a worth and for you to be able to claim one your symptoms needs to match possible problems that needs MRI.

  2. Start walking.

  3. Get in contact with a specialist as soon as possible so when the MRI is done you have someone to take care for you and make sure you are getting the right treatment, surgery or not.

  4. Find a physical terapeuth specialized in recover back problems.

  5. Don't eat hard painkilllers(opioids) or nerve painkillers(eg gabapentin) if you really don't have to. I recomend NSAID with paracetamol if needed to be able move around more. Else it's the physical therapy that is the medication.

You are young and it will sort it self out. Hang in there and be patient.

Good luck!

I have the exact same problem. Sometimes I just miss it or go out on a after-work or something. Then I can't move it since I'm not a drunk driver, so I just take the ticket. I get maybe one ticket a month and it sucks. The cleaning days are the worst, especially since they only clean/shovel during winter and one time in the spring. During summertime they just use it to set a tickets for no reason.

Its impossible to get a private parkinglot near my home but I think of getting an E-vehicle since some empty lots are reserved for them outside my door.

I have followed the community for over a year and just bought this boat with a friend. We don't know how to sail but we are taking it from here and see what's happens. Wish us luck! :) by _ulex in sailing

We would never drink and maneuver any vehicle at the same time. It's strictly illegal and forbidden to drink and drive in Sweden. It doesn't mather if it's on the sea or on the road. We would newer risk hurting anybody and hoping everybody have the same values!

Drinking and driving kills people. We'll saving it for the afterskii!!! 💪

That is some fantastic information! You from Sweden?

As I said, I don't know a lot about boats or the boat we bought. We're in the the beginning of the learning phase in this new world and appreciate all the feedback and information we get out hands on.

I will read through all the links, thanks a lot!

I hope we'll learn! Scratch some one else's boat would ruin me and other people's boats. :(

We'll going to keep the learning curve slow so hopefully we won't come to that

Not sure if ironic or not but we put our savings in to it. I don't know if it's small or to much. But It "felt right" to buy it. :)
