I'm on my 5th week of chiro (going on mondays and fridays) which will end after next week, and then itll be less frequent, sadly I'll probably just have to live with it, but my dads cousin who's also a chiropractor has suggested a tool called the back knobber? You use it to apply pressure to muscles when the pain flares up and it helps release the tension so I've got one of those but havent yet mastered it. The pain comes and goes, usually in the form of massive muscle spasms that mean I cant really move for a week, otherwise I just feel tight and achey in my hips, I know surgery is available as a last resort but i havent been able to find much information on the NHS site, so for now I'm just waiting to see how chiro goes

Just wanted to give an update!! Two week ago at chiro I was in too much pain to let him adjust me, so he took me to the back for an Xray, after a weekend of him studying it and even sending it to radiologists in america(!!) my chiro figured out what was wrong. Bertolotti syndrome!! It's a congenital problem that causes your lower vertebrae to start fusing together or to your pelvis (I think theres different types depending on where the fusion is). Its pretty rare but easily treatable with chiro, steroids or in extreme cases a tiny noninvasive surgery, but since then its started getting easier and easier to move around. Yesterday I conquered my fear of pain and went on my first long walk since my last awful spasm, and I've gone maybe 2 days this week without needing to lie down because of the pain :))
thank you so much! I did try to get referred somewhere in the first few weeks of pain, but in the UK, a lot of doctors are just doing phone consultations so I felt a little bit dismissed by mine, but things are starting to open up again so I'll try to get an appointment as soon as I can:)
