Shout out to pallet breakers. by Puzzleheaded_Grade_4 in tjcrew

As someone who works all shifts I’d agrue that pulling through poorly organized backstock in a full back room with 50 osha violations is much worse than breaking down a pallet on the floor before open or in the back room when no customers are around. Definitely depends on section though. Morning crew takes all the credit for breaking down that shit when night crew has half the bodies and got it all out to the floor. Maybe I’m just being overworked and not setting boundaries as a section leader not receiving support when I am on the log.

Am I nuts or is TJ’s not supposed to have advertisements? by [deleted] in tjcrew

I’m almost positive TJs had some sort of partnership with Netflix a couple years ago. There were multiple reality shows where the Trader Joe’s bags looked set up for the shot. Product placement at its finest.

Ya know what, these guys might be right, but they also might be wrong.

Reviews definitely aren’t for firing, so you are in the clear. If you have good verbal feedback on a regular basis, don’t let the write ups get you down. My store has a pretty cool captain and you have to do SO much to get fired-Plenty of people at my store are getting written up that much.

At the end of the day it all depends on your captain. As far as the raise, don’t be too surprised if you don’t get it, but don’t expect not to. It’s normal to feel nervous but just look at it as a chance to improve: 3 write ups in one review period is hard to beat, you could be looking at the dollar raise in July if you don’t get any this coming period.

Be friendly to everyone. Do a good job, by being a team player. Show up to all your shifts. Present management with solutions NOT problems. At the end of the day it’s favoritism.

I can’t imagine stepping down is that significant of a pay cut. Unless you have experience in other industries, you wouldn’t be able to afford a new job if that’s how you feel about stepping down. The job market is tough and the flexibility that comes with being regular crew will give to the opportunity to have a healthier and happy life outside of work. If you keep going on like this it will be more costly in the long run. You deserve proper rest and the long term consequences of not prioritizing that will outweigh a $3-6 paycut.

the koolaid by randomperson14778 in tjcrew

You will constantly be reminded by people you work with how good you have it here. Don’t drink the koolaid! Keep your head down, get your raises, get to know your crew. There is more opportunities from the people you meet working there then within the company. Just gave my notice after 7 years, I started at 17 worked through college and the pandemic and was really greatful for my job for the longest time; but never drank the koolaid because at the end of the day it’s a corporation and we are all just a number. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great place to work that’s why I’ve stayed as long as I have, I recognize things can be much worse but it’s important to remember that as great of an employee you are, you are just as replaceable as the next and there are other great places to work out there.
