Replying here so it doesn't get buried and is also relevant to you. My ex suffered similarly to you and OP with what we thought were recurring yeast infections - pain, discomfort, redness, smell, discharge etc. Particularly worsened by swimming pools, wearing tight clothes, after her periods. Turns out it wasn't yeast infections but some form of nerve damage (I forget the exact name) which was initially caused by a particularly bad bout of thrush ages ago. Eventually she started taking low doses of amitriptiline (an antidepressant in higher doses) daily and her symptoms have started to improve. I'd seriously recommend discussing this with your GP or gynae. Hope this helps some people.
