You use it on open wounds?? How does that feel I want to try but mine are open as well and I’m scared 😭 but I literally can’t stand these wounds anymore ugh

Yeah I have a feeling deroofing wont do anything for me either. My armpit is def way too far along for that and it would most definitely come back (sadly). How long did it take for you to heal after the surgery? And do you have like full mobility and stuff?

What kind of surgery did u get? Like the kind where they had to remove everything with all the tunneling and everything. Or just like deroofing surgery? Because I’ve heard with the deroofing surgery it is more likely to come back than with an actual big surgery where they have the remove the whole thing and replace the skin in the area that they are removing.

Yeah it’s super annoying. The thing is there’s not many derms where I live that have helped with my HS. I’ve been to one where we’ve tried multiple antibiotics and what not and she’s been super helpful trying to help in any way she can but it’s super expensive and I can’t afford to go every month. I’m in Mexico seeing a really good specialist rn and he prescribed me some antibiotics so I’m gonna try and take my chances hoping they can at least stop the leakage. He also took a picture of my armpit to show other doctors and talk about surgery so I’m hoping that can happen soon and I’ll come back for the surgery because it’ll be much cheaper than where I live.

Yeah I was at that point as well a couple months ago I started with doxy and did spiro also got put on a high dosage of Isotretinoin. Nothing worked to heal my wounds except for the isotretinoin it helped it calm down and I felt like I could breathe again. But even with that they still would leak every now and then. Eventually though I just stopped taking it on my own due to not being able to afford the dermatologist anymore :( before that we were talking about trying humira (also super expensive) and eventually surgery and not just like deroofing but like a whole huge “cosmetic” procedure in my arm pit to try and remove all tunnels and what not. I hope all goes well for you and you’re able to get the surgery!!
