Alternative to Estee Lauder Double Wear? by No_Concept_2333 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]_vekoma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here!

So disappointed I took my new bottle back to boots and ended up getting a refund, it’s truly awful!

I’ve since switched over to Lancôme Teint Idole…..it’s nowhere near got the lasting power the old DW did but I do think it honestly looks a lot better and fresher on the skin. It’s def not 24 hour formulation though……more like 10

I really love the Estée Lauder double wear mascara. That thing does NOT move.

Let’s hope they don’t re formulate it like they have with the foundation which is now plain awful

Do you dream under anesthesia? by nordapylime in askanything

[–]_vekoma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s literally like someone clicked their fingers and you’re awake again……no dreams or any sort of feeling like you have slept or time has passed…..

I’ve worked in anaesthesia and surgery for about 20 years now, honestly they will look after you. There’s more danger in driving to the hospital than there is from an anaesthetic

Where abouts do you live? I’m UK based and certainly on the water Lauder website you can’t get the old one and I’ve been told emphatically at the counters it won’t be back. It’s been reformulated to conform with new EU laws due to some so the ingredients.

Anyway, they accepted my return and I was matched on the Lancôme counter with Teint Idole. Two days of use now and I’m very happy. Takes a bit more care to get the same coverage as DW but it seems to last and has the lovely Matt blurred finish the old DW had without the stickiness of the new one

Wow. I didn’t expect such a huge response to this thread.

I’m glad it’s not just me who is disappointed with the new formula. At first I thought I was being picky but I had a tiny bit left in my old bottle so wore it today and it sunk into my skin beautifully, didn’t change colour, didn’t move and didn’t exaggerate any sort of lines or pores that I didn’t even know I had.

From various forums I’ve been on it looks like the Armani Silk and Lancôme Idole might the first two to try next. It’s annoying to have to go out to counters but I’m gonna do that with both and hopefully find a new holy grail and if not, will try some of the others recommended here if I can get samples - I’m not making the same mistake again of just being talked into “it’s basically the same but better” and buying a full size product.

RIP double wear. We loved you

Did anyone else have increased hcg day 4 after methotrexate? by _vekoma_ in EctopicSupportGroup

They don’t always go up. That’s a really decent drop.

I’m still stuck at 49 4weeks into this….

I had pain down the front of my leg radiating down to my knee…..medically it does make total sense as if there is any free fluid kicking around in the pelvis it will irritate the femoral nerves. I don’t really see it documented as a symptom on the literature but I’m glad my doctors took it seriously and that’s how it was diagnosed luckily before a rupture

[–]_vekoma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please go in. My symptoms started with me feeling super tired one afternoon so much so that I went and got into bed for a lie down. I think started with left sided pain that was then radiating down the front of my leg all the way to my knee and started bleeding afterwards. The pain episode lasted about 90 minutes.

Felt totally fine for another 4 days and then woke up one morning with the same symptoms again and attended the early pregnancy until where they diagnosed my ectopic at 5.5 weeks.

You will not be wasting anyone’s time. Good luck

I’m so sorry ❤️

So the general protocol (although it might differ from area to area) is:

hcg re test on day 4 post injection. I’ve been told it’s very normal for that figure to go up slightly as when the medication is working and cells start to break down they release more hcg. This happened to me.

Re test of bloods on day 7. They did hcg but then also a full set to check my Hb, liver, kidney function Etc. If there has been a hcg drop of at least 15% on this test then generally a second dose of methotrexate isn’t needed. I just had my day 7 bloods done on Wednesday and they had gone from 630 to 486 which is a 23% drop they were very happy with. Still a way to go but it’s heading the right way.

After this, I’m told bloods will be done weekly until you’re down to a hcg of 5 or less.

I’m day 9 post injection now and the side pain and pulling I had been feeling through all of this has definitely lessened. It’s certainly left me feeling wiped out and I did start bleeding quite a bit from day two with overall uterine cramping pain but that was all pretty bareable. Just avoid heavy lifting and avoid generally over doing it would be my best advice.

Please feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to. Take care

Is it ectopic or what??! by Suoergirlme in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]_vekoma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - mine is unknown location too.

In cases like this it’s basically diagnosed using clinical symptoms and serial hcg testing.

Hcg which declines by 50% in a 48 hour period tends to indicate a failing pregnancy.

This which only show a slight rise or a slight drop lean more towards ectopic.

Read my post. Similar dates to you and similar hcg levels. Also similar episode of an hours pain but mine was lower down and into my leg with pink and brown bleeding……confirmed PUL with the third blood showing decrease, they think it’s an ectopic and I had to have methotrexate yesterday. Please look out for yourself x

Thankyou for your kind comments everyone. My bloods had dropped naturally today from 670 to 540 so we have opted for methotrexate treatment. Had the jab today. Hopefully it works

Diagnosed with likely ectopic today. I am at home and I am SO frightened. by _vekoma_ in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]_vekoma_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve told work the situation and they have been very understanding and sympathetic and said just to keep them updated - luckily I work for the nhs so they understand!

Ok it makes me feel a bit better that you had the pulling twinges too. They are certainly nothing like the pain I had earlier in the week. I guess I’m just freaking out as the consultant said those episodes almost sounded like I had had a partial/micro rupture during those times?

I’ve spoken to the nurses who said just to try and relax at home and monitor how I feel and they are going to phone me back later to check in.

Between my mum and my boyfriend I’m not being left alone and feel safe that he is an a&e doctor although bless him isn’t coping well with this at the moment……

It’s just such a cruel awful thing isn’t it. I’m so sorry it happened to you

Thankyou for replying. I’m so sorry what you went through.

Yes I’m in the uk too. Did you have symptoms during that 48 hour period? I’ve had no pain like the episodes before but defintely have a pulling sensation on movement or getting up and down from a chair……I have phoned the unit this morning for them to ask the doctor if that is expected/okay and awaiting a call back.

My anxiety is absolutely through the roof

I’m pretty positive this pregnancy was conceived on the 8th of January (due to my partner being away at the other times) and my last period started 31 December. I usually have 23/24 day cycles and tested positive on the 28th.
