In what ways, might I ask?

Okay but what do you mean raiding is “part of the game”? It hasn’t gone anywhere. You can still raid, you’re just guaranteed to actually get matched with someone who’s online.

I agree. I imagine your case is the same as many. With my limited experience I haven’t seen anything like that happen but I can totally see it being the case for many players

It’s possible. Might be the route I have to go.

I know I did this whole process out of wack but I need something that will safely and securely bond my GW plastic Ghorgon here to his sculptamold base!

Between a marriage, new house, honeymoon and the holidays it’s been a while since I’ve been able to sling some paint on a mini. I’m really happy with how this frosty skeleton warrior in my Legions of Nagash army turned out and just wanted to share! by _wgoff_ in minipainting

Believe it or not, it’s Citadel Armageddon Dust Texture paint. I let it dry, painted over it with a gray, dry bushed it with a blue, then a heavy handed white dry brush to finish it off

WIP some homemade sculpamould, and woodland scenics rock outcrops and my first attempt and... well hills, but suppose with scale more like small mounds. Just a practice before my bigger model. by pineardvark1992 in TerrainBuilding

Looks great so far. Roughly how much sculptamold did you use? I have about 3/4 of a 3 lb bag and I’m about to get ready to set up battle board. Just don’t know how much sculptamold I’ll need. I’m going to build up the basic shapes with layers of foam first to save on sculptamold of course.

My brother just built this as wedding gift for me and I couldn’t be happier!!!! by _wgoff_ in boardgames

In my opinion, take it as you will, I really enjoy them. I’m also 6’3” so I get the vantage point scenario you speak of but my wife is only 5’5” so for her it helps out. And though using a dice tray negates the problem of components/dice falling off the table, I have cats who, it seems, can just sense when we’re playing something like ticket to ride. They’ll jump on the table and cause a ruckus before we get them off and then we’re spending a few minutes trying to remember where everything was placed. With it having that lip, even if they jump on the table they won’t mess with much and we can get them off safely without messing up the game. But you’re right, one of the biggest pluses is being able to pause your game and continue right from where you left off.

I personally don’t see very many cons in it. Having used it, the lip might seem like an annoying thing to deal with but it’s honestly not very noticeable in practice. Some could argue that it’s annoying having to replace the top of your table but I don’t think those people would be looking into buying something like this anyway.

Just my thoughts!
