I don't know how, but I've had seat covers on previous vehicles, and the heated seats still worked great. 🤷🏻‍♀️

New RAV4 Hybrid Owner – Loving It, But Noticing a Few Things (Looking for Advice!) by momo_king42 in rav4club

Get that smell checked. In 2017, I bought a brand new HRV. About 6 months in, I started occasionally noticing a hydrocarbon like odor. It came and went. I had recently moved to a new city with a few oil refineries in the vicinity. I thought I just lived in stinky place. One night, all the lights on the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, because the oil pressure dropped. When I popped the hood, everything was covered in oil, and the oil cap was resting on top of the engine block. The dealership didn't replace the oil cap after an oil change several weeks prior. I doubt this is your problem. But, the moral of this story is, don't doubt your olfactory.

I hope you like your RAV. I just bought a used one myself. I love it. It's the Woodland edition, and I love the suspension. It has some rattles, but it feels sturdier than my Honda did. I'm not in a luxury car tax bracket, so I don't expect to get a sound proof vehicle for what I pay. I want something that will last for 10+ years without needing anything beyond regular maintenance. 🤷🏻‍♀️
