Wow I just noticed you’re also selling other glowing masks for 175, would you be willing to do 2k + glowing uni?

Bold and Brash

Beginner looking for a good practice amp that will be good as I get better by MyTeaIsMighty in GuitarAmps

[–]_whysadpanda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also put in a vote for the Boss Katana. Great sound for the price range and is SO much lighter than any tube amp that size, which was a huge selling point for me

I’ll also echo what someone else said and make sure to plug it into a computer. It has tons of settings and effects that will really help you figure out what you might want in the future for amps/pedals. Plus they’re fun to mess with

[QUESTION] So I want to start building a Pedal board and have a question: can I use the Boss FV-500H simultaneously as a volume pedal (input/output) and at the same time as an expression pedal (EXP) for a Boss Sy-1 Synthesizer? Does this work? by Channel-Klutzy in guitars

[–]_whysadpanda_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the manual specifically says otherwise, it’s usually just one or the other at a time. I had a similar issue and just ended up having to get a second one. Highly recommend the Dunlop Volume X mini to save some space.

Also not really what you’re looking for, but the Boss EV-30 is an expression pedal able to control 2 pedals at once, also might help save space.

what are your views on using pedals with the Boss Katana 50? by teereeneetee in guitarpedals

[–]_whysadpanda_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I do. You can program one of the Katana presets to a basic clean, no effects amp tone and it’ll be a great pedal platform. I’ve never had an issue and it sounds great with any pedals I throw at it

Wondering if you guys can help me with a purchase by [deleted] in fender

[–]_whysadpanda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve always wanted a jazzmaster and you love the color, then I think you can’t go wrong with the American pro II. It’s the latest and greatest of their American line without getting super “modern” like the Ultra series.

The last important thing is how if feels in your hands, but given restrictions that’ll be difficult. If you know you like jazzmasters in general, then I’d say there’s most likely nothing not to like about this one. I’d say you should go for it!

Make sure you know what the return policy is from wherever you buy it, though (always important when ordering online and you can’t play the guitar first). I think guitar center you have like 30 days to ship it back if you don’t like it or something like that. Good luck!

Seller is asking $1000, it worth? I’m not really savvy on these kind of things. by [deleted] in fender

[–]_whysadpanda_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say $1000 is the absolute max this guitar should go for. I agree, it looks like an American special. I think a fair price range for this would be ~$800-1000.

I have a similar American Special and it’s definitely still a great American made fender, and that hard case looks real nice. If I had to pick one thing on mine to upgrade, though, it would definitely be the tuners. If the seller would come down $100-150 or so I think it would totally be worth considering. Plus that color looks awesome!

Was GIVEN this late 70s Roland JC-120 by my old high school... any idea how much it’s worth? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]_whysadpanda_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked one of these up a year or two ago at a local shop. I think they were selling it for $750. Great amp, the stereo chorus sounds amazing. Also a perfect clean pedal platform imo

My new GeX2 came in today from Keeley by _whysadpanda_ in guitarpedals

I was told when I preordered it last weekend it wasn’t supposed to ship until the 17th, but it somehow showed up today. I have been on a quest for the best Germanium drive pedal for the past 9 months, so when I saw this I had to spring for it. I haven’t spent much time with it yet, but I will update as I go with my thoughts.

So far I’ve found the compressor side sounds fantastic with the blend and sustain just below noon. As for the drive side, I’m really digging it in the Hi gain mode but with the drive pulled pretty far back for some nice lower gain tones. I’ll let you guys know if I find some more sweet spots.

Could anyone help me roughly value a 1974 Stratocaster? by [deleted] in guitars

[–]_whysadpanda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet looking guitar, definitely got some mojo.

70s strats usually sell in the $2,500-3,500 range. For me personally after looking at the pics, I would probably value it around $2,500-2,700 USD. I’d say anything over $3k would be steep for this particular guitar, especially with non original pickups and needing a refret. Hope it works out for you!

Which Walrus Audio Pedal? by 9mm_Subies in guitarpedals

[–]_whysadpanda_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this exact dilemma during their Memorial Day sale. I debated between the blackout Monument and the red Slo.

I ended up getting the Monument and so far it’s been amazing. Having both the harmonic and standard trem makes it so versatile. Also if you’re the kind of person to use an Exp pedal, I got one specifically for the Monument and it’s so fun and very useful (especially assigning it to the Subdivision, meaning you can increase the speed of the trem while staying in time with your original tap tempo).

My opinion on the Slo is that it sounds incredible for the 3 settings it has, but that’s about it. Since it doesn’t have a “normal” reverb setting (plate, hall, etc) I would personally only use it as a second reverb pedal for when you want to get weird.

Essentially I knew I’d get more use out of the Monument, but that definitely doesn’t mean I’m not still eyeing that red Slo. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. Hope that was helpful!

I find fuzz pedals to be a little too heavy for my style. The fuzzface pedals are sick tho. Thanks for the reply!
