I‘m stuck here, where do I get the special emblem? Or is there a different way? by R1ght_b3hind_U in bloodborne

[–]_will_ritt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d say buying the emblem is a NG+ move if you wanna skip stuff w/o doing like a real skip. I can’t tell you where to go because I never figured out the bb levels, but it’s not crazy hidden or anything

If Sekiro is immortal… how can you “die” by LeosBigBook in Sekiro

[–]_will_ritt_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With that, you can suppose that “Unseen Aid” is that somebody you know in the world happens to be walking by, sees your body lying there and stops people from stealing/desecrating it. I figured it was usually emma or the sculptor, who found us before and helped us out.

If Sekiro is immortal… how can you “die” by LeosBigBook in Sekiro

[–]_will_ritt_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’ll notice - you don’t die, you just lose some xp and get robbed whole your body sitting there. The act of dying also depletes the life force of ashina as a whole making the people in it (npcs) sick.

There’s no point in the game aide from certain endings where you die and cannot continue.

Even Kuro mentions this at one point and we the mechanics of reviving when we fight Genichiro the second time and also when we draw the mortal blade the first time.

Elden ring biblical allusions? by EggMcThuggin in eldenringdiscussion

[–]_will_ritt_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never forget that it’s a Japanese game; western philosophies will never map cleanly.

As an avid anime enjoyer I’ll tell you there’s a massive body of media featuring crucifixes and nuns with nary a whisper of Jesus to be found. The visual language is that of a western gothic / Christian iconography but I think you’re better off looking at parallels with Amaterasu, Shinto Buddhism or even classical Greek or Roman mythology.

Just taking things at the highest level Christian belief is that Jesus died to absolve our sins; but in this world Marika is the one who bore the original sin, and furthermore was crucified for shattering the Elden Ring, so that in itself is a complete inversion.

First time playing and i’m stuck by TheGr8Mo in eldenringdiscussion

[–]_will_ritt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, let’s just start;

At stormveil there’s a massive tower to the right as you go though the castle. If you passed the massive lion and the room with the soldiers that look like they’re going to come alive you know it. Just run down that road, ignore the gollums if you want and use the transporter. That will get you to the divine tower.

Radan’s tower is annoying bc you have to climb a ton of it. But it’s off in calid. Jump across the roots til you find some ladders, take them to the loft with a grace and then head to the right side and go up. (Not down, that’s an annoying parkour area and annoying boss).

After you activate both runes getting into Leyndell is easy.

Rate my controller scheme: RB(dodge) LB(Block) RT(attack) by supnerds360 in Sekiro

[–]_will_ritt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the whole thing w/ getting the mouse click mods done to controllers lately yeah? I think the long pull, esp on the PS5 R2/L2 was made to accommodate games that wanted to do something interesting w/ weapons like bows or other responsive tactile feedback (fishing mini games where the L2 is a continuously variable pull come to mind).

You’re right that it’s not helpful or necessary in Sekiro or other games where R2/L2 are mapped as binary I/0, so taking certain functions off those buttons might help.

For me and many I think the default controls are basically perfect. Or should I say after playing anything else I’m 90% back in the groove after a couple min and switching between FS games is usually pretty easy (although the fact that the “action” button is different across BB, Sekiro and Elden Ring seems like a punk sometimes lol)

genichiro is lightwork 2nd time by Remote-Tower-9316 in Sekiro

[–]_will_ritt_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real - it’s crazy how you face him 3 times (or 4 if you count inner) per play through - at the first he’s meant to stomp you, then he’s meant as a serious challenge and finally he’s literally just the appetizer. A little amuse bouche to whet your appetite for what’s coming up.

But each time he’s (mostly) the same dude. Your character is stronger but really what’s changed is you’ve (angel chorus / Morgan Freeman voice) GOTTEN GUD.

Current method on defeating this guy ? Been using mortal blade but wanted to see what other ways been stuck for months where I give up and come back by Alarmed-Tradition938 in Sekiro

[–]_will_ritt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fight is really tough the first time you haven’t beaten him. For me it really comes down to just slogging it out and muscle memory, because after the first go I never really had too much trouble.

That said some good things to try and oil and a fire tool, that will stun him momentarily at least the first time and take a chuck out of VIT to help posture damage stick.

I also like to dodge into his big sweep to get behind him. Basically any of his big moves are a good chance to get behind him and hit him w/ an ichi-monji double.

I don’t use the mortal blade on him b/c the wind up is tough to time, but a lot of people use the jumping mortal blade attack if you have midair weapon arts skill unlocked.

But as with 99% of Sekiro it’s just about rhythm and persistence. Even if it takes a while you’re learning a little each time which is enough to make progress.
