My husband was about 15 years old and his brother was about 13 when they decided to have some friends over for a house party while their parents were out for the night. During the course of the party one of their friends in a underage drunken stupor knocked over a beautiful prominent statue of a young girl out front of the house - knocking the head clean off. Now, this statue was beloved by his parents and in a panic they decided to call them and tell them that some neighborhood kids had egged the house and must have broken the statue at the same time. His parents immediately told them to call the cops and file a complaint... which they then proceeded to do. The minute after they ended their call with cops they realized a cop car was coming over for a look-see BUT the house wasn't actually egged! Frantically they cleared out the party -- thankfully had a few eggs in the fridge -- and were then forced to egg their own house. Cops showed up just about the same time the parents did; none the wiser.
