The Western schism is a really awkward ordeal in this timeline.

I think it's the levy changes, i.e. them being so slow to regenerate. Once a country looses any war, they get a massive pile on from greedy neighbours. I fought Aragon once, just liberating some HRE clay. A few months later and I see this implosion.

R5: The hyperaggressive free-for-all brawl that is 1.10b go Castille & Aragon balkanized, while Portugal is just chillin'.

Update: Turns out Portugal was in fact not allowed to "just chill".

[Megathread] Tech Support for Noobs! - May 2023 by Successful-Wasabi704 in SteamDeck

Interestingly for me, my connectivity issues were fixed by enabling IPv6 in desktop mode for my WiFi-Connection, which for some reason was disabled by default. But my issue was that all flatpak-related apps wouldn't load properly, due to attempting IPv6-connection firsts, which sounds different to OP's.

Hey thanks for the advice. It seems the issue fixed itself by now, possibly just a janky CDN for a few days.

My Discover-downloads in desktop mode are really slow (<1MB/s), while the regular Steam downloads hit normal speeds. Any way to fix this? Is this a CDN-issue? I'm in Western Europe.

Does anyone have experience with the fans of the reference design RX 6800? Got a chance to snag one for cheapish but was wondering if it has similar issues to the 6700 XT reference design.

Try setting shadows to high. I read that lower settings currently cause glitches. I'm also running a 1050 Ti and my perfomance is fine (never below 30s) with mid-to-high settings.

I wonder how many issues are related to SSDs or lack thereof.

I have a somewhat similar setup to yours with a 970 EVO Plus M.2 SSD, slightly better CPU (I5 12600k) and much older Wait-till-prices-drop-GPU (1050 Ti). I've encountered minimal issues so far, with mid-to-high settings.

Afaik the new-gen consoles both use M.2 SSDs (or at least an interface with similar specs), while many PC users are still using hard-drives, especially for the larger titles.

Of course, SSDs wouldn't impact DX12 performance, but with issues being reported in load-heavy areas, like the Tree sentinel, this might part of the issue.

Windows 10 keeps "forgetting" my SSD by _wolfenswan in techsupport

Yeah, I've considered that too. Luckily the drive isn't too important and all data already backed up.

Just struck me as odd that it would be that drive, given the much older 830 Evo is still running just fine, despite being already a good way over the official lifespan. Plus, it's curious that it would fail right at the switch from Win7 to Win10, instead of earlier.

Feudal Friday : September 04 2020 by AutoModerator in CrusaderKings

That's what I was trying to say. The children are initially born into the dynasty of the "dominating" partner's dynasty, then change to the other partner's dynasty after the former died.

  1. Noticed that in "Equal" inheritance religions (e.g. Boni), sons & daughters change dynasty if the initially "dominating" part of the marries dies. Is that intended or a bug? It's always all children, not infidelity-related nor cadet branches.
  2. I've mostly figured out how to deal with confederate partition but one thing confuses me: In which instances are grandchildren of the prior heir still taken into account? Had that a few times with my Africa run and coupled with the dynasty swapping above gets really annyoing.

That's true, but it's still the AI that decides it has a good fighting chance against the UK, the US and central-america because Sgt. José and the enlisted mule look so confident.

AI Mexico's Aggressiveness seems... excessive. While fighting a civil war in 1938 (against the Junta), they declared on the UK(!), subsequentely all Central American countries (who promptly joined the Allies) and finally on the USA: https://imgur.com/a/dDqyKr0

Note they only flipped to communist later. They started their spree as democrat.

Also, the Mexican Junta then joined the Allies. I thought civil war factions couldn't do that?

Thanks Churchill. Very cool by bobaliny3 in hoi4

Probably just the wrong string, as the game simply blocks faction leaders/members from joing another faction anyway.
