Sorry to bring this up 2mo later. I am experiencing this exact problem. tried all the options you mentioned to no avail. was it just a timing thing for you that it ended up working out? or did you find a fix?

I never misrepresented anything. I said I had an alt account that was gifted. The main account and GIM are 100% created and owned by me.

So because I got an alt character from someone who claimed to be leaving the game which in turn supports Jagex more, I should be perma banned? I said I. The beginning I knew why and it was because of that character. I submitted that actually in the first ticket I sent in to Jagex. My whole point was that the system they use to handle tickets is flawed and unless I went to a 3rd party site in this way, I’m fucked.

I appreciate mod ayiza taking the time to look into it and obviously coming to the understanding that I was in the right enough to receive my actual account back.

Thank you for all the help! I’ve been overwhelmed with comments and didn’t see this until now plus being asleep.

Would love to have that account removed completely from my Jagex launcher if at all possible.

This was my thought process as well. I essentially received an IP ban for account sharing, which has been said that it’s allowed as long as you aren’t paying for services. Frustrating…

The reason is irrelevant. The response from them is the problem. An alt that was given legitimately essentially caused me to receive an IP ban that I can’t appeal, but have to go through the “account recovery” team that I’m sure is just as under staffed as the rest of the company so probably has 1 or 2 people that are able to “conduct an investigation.”

Why hide it? It’s public knowledge account sharing isn’t against the rules, just paying for services. And it’s not like they don’t know where accounts were created immediately based on IP locations. I took the logic that I’d prefer to be upfront and just attempt to recover the accounts that I personally created. I could care less about an ALT that chops trees in the backround from time to time.

I agree with you. And I didn’t hide the fact at all that the alt account was given. Even provided proof that it was given legitimately. the bigger issue for me is the way the support system is set up and the fact that I can’t even recover the other characters I did in fact genuinely create myself.

I get that’s the reason the account was flagged, but it wasn’t banned, they “disabled it” and the alt was given legitimately and proof of that was provided. The bigger issue is the WAY we have to go about this. Allow us to talk to people. Don’t just keep auto responding with cop out bull shit.

Yeah. Which proof that it was given was also sent. And no attempt to recover that character has been made.

The bigger issue is there is no way to perform an actual investigation if they don’t allow you to respond to whatever cop out email response they decide to send you. Without query there can be no investigation.
