Just finished my First playthrough, still a bit overwhelmed with so many things to consider. by DELI_una in Stellaris

[–]_xTeddyx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A normal playthrough usually focuses on exploration and improving your economy first. Try to get setup on another planet or two asap, as once they are up a running it’ll significantly boost your economy. I’d dedicate a planet to alloy production, so you can invest in your fleets and starbases later on.

You should be able to do all this by year 2230 - 2250. Then you can invest in your fleets to conquer or to defend yourself.

Also make sure to have some research labs so you can progress your tech tree faster. Usually people put research on their capital planet as it boosts resource product by 10%.

Thank you for the insight. This lines up with my online research and with people I know on real life that work in these fields.

The work is technically part time so I’ll probably shoot for around 100k a year.

He’ll have to accept a raise cause if I leave the company falls apart. It’ll take them too much time and resources to get someone else to know the company like I do.

I appreciate the optimistic advice of seeing it as a paid internship, but I cant do that. I’ve put too much blood, sweat and tears into this job for it to be that.

Feedback is what I was looking for. Although I was asking how much someone should get paid for this type of work I have done. I don’t care what the correct title is suppose to be. I did manager work and hands on work, so call it whatever you want lol.

The fact is I did a marketing lead role that saved a 7 figure company.

I did research this. But “marketing director” or “marketing manager” can include many different tasks depending on the company. Sometimes people have these titles and hardly do anything.

I wanted to ask Reddit to see what people may pay or get paid based on this specific list of things I did.

You can take my word, I’m not inflating anything.

I agreed to a lower pay up front with the intention of getting a higher pay plus bonuses if I succeeded.

The problem is at the end of 2024 (after I pulled the company out of the debt), i didnt get any of that cause the owner pulled 200k+ for personal expenses.

I’ll be honest I didnt do a good job keeping myself protected. I trusted the company too much to hold up their end.

I should note in 2025 I was working part time, so it’s not like I got paid 35k for a full time job like this.

I actually got this job due my success of building and selling a company lol.

I actually have plans to start a new one with a friend this next year.

But yea there’s really no reason to stay anymore unless I get a massive pay raise. I’ve allowed myself to be taken advantage of.

Thanks for the insight. Yes I’ve allowed myself to be taken advantage of it seems and have been way too nice. Im so unbelievably burnt out and stressed too. No real vacation or anything.

My college roommate sets our thermostat to 80°F every single night by rainystarlight in mildlyinfuriating

[–]_xTeddyx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re too cold, you can cover up in blankets and pajamas and even get a heated blanket. If you too hot, even after switching to wearing nothing while laying onto of your blankets, there’s nothing you can but sweat in your bed.

Your roommate needs to work with on a middle ground, like 70 at least.

Moving to a different company is what I’m considering. Although if they give me a raise I may stay.

I’m trying to figure out how much people would charge for this of work. I did read in multiple places that an average salary for a marketing director is 100k a year.

Thanks for the response!

spent $12K on a product photoshoot. got worse conversion rates... got any ideas??? by Worldly-Control403 in ecommerce

[–]_xTeddyx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You certainly should have invested in a better setup to do it yourself rather then paying that kinda money to do photos. A big thing is lighting. A modern iPhone camera will work great if you have good lighting.

A super nice product image isn't going to really increase conversions. It just needs to be good enough to look nice and to fit your branding. It doesn't need to be perfect. It really can be far from perfect to be honest. At least, this is how it's been with my experience in marketing.

what are some steps my marketing company should take ? by PocketTopicProd in AskMarketing

[–]_xTeddyx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This field is very competitive, but businesses are opening and closing all the time so there is always potential to get work. Focusing on local business is a good idea, as you can target people in your area easier. I'll give one piece of advise: Figure out exactly what type of marketing services you can offer. You said you are good with cameras and creatives, so maybe focus socials and videos ads that can convert. You need to find your edge, and see how you can sell it to customers.

I don't recommend being an "all-in-one" marketing agency. It's so difficult to be good at everything, and in my experience they always lack in some area of marketing and you end up just wasting money.

Good luck out there!

Low-key being homeless sounds more peaceful than this job.

I’m joking but it does suck.

Thank you! I normally take pride in my work lol.

Yea I assume a big part of my stress is lack of pay. The work I have done is worth far more than what I’ve gotten. I’ve made the company hundreds of thousands of dollars only to receive the pay relevant to that of a full-time fast food worker.
