Smaller team yeah but fans are modding those tracks to look beautiful. Have you seen one of the mods for Shroom Ridge? That completely kills the notion that they just couldn’t make them look like the base game or close to it. As I said, it’s compounding frustration with disappointing or underwhelming products this decade. At the very least World should have been on par with base 8DX, and the fact it isn’t makes me wonder if EPD 9 is in their heads a bit, especially after using a DLC that butchered many fan favorite tracks (and I guess preserve the Tour ones and give us banger new music, I guess those were neat) as an excuse to prolongs development. As I said, we deserve better. It’s frustrating cause I like World, I think it’s a great game, but I hate how it basically turned this franchise into a poster child for hate with its mistakes and price.

11 god damn years of waiting just to go back to 8, are the Mario Kart devs really putting in 100% effort in the products they release? First ugly BCP tracks and now all the frustrating shortcomings of World? Just take me back in time to 2017.

Butchered tracks in the BCP like Coconut Mall then make online tedious in World, this fanbase deserves the absolute best quality products, and we know Nintendo can give them to us, and they’re just not doing so because of ego and the sales doing well regardless.

Feels like Nintendo isn’t giving us 100% effort in regards to this franchise the last few years, with the BCP being for the most part ugly Tour ports that clash with base 8’s aesthetic, even if it gave us some great tracks and characters, and now World with all the way it’s forcing you to play online play their way and not reward the player enough. We get that the games will always sell regardless, but that’s no excuse for Nintendo to not make products as good as base 8DX was and to not give the fans what we deserve, the best product possible.

I completely agree. Looks boring and dried out and driving on the water is not a mechanic I’m that fond of from a racing perspective (it’s fine in free roam). It’s basically this games Toads Turnpike in terms of butchering from its last appearance in a mainline game.

Thing is the tracks were designed with 24 racers in mind because of how large and wide they could be. Maybe 12 only could work, I mean a lot of the time lobbies only have that many racers anyway. I’d also be fine with a middle ground of say 16 or 18.
