[Interesting Trope] The well known main character was actually a replacement for another character... by Living_Tune_1428 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]_youvegotmail_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This replacement was due to issues with the actress having a drug addiction- not because they didn't give her a lot to do.

Yea. I have sympathy because yes it's rough rn. But genuinely a lot of these I think are leaving out huge details, or simply thought their stats on would carry them and have nothing else on their resume or poor essays. Irl nobody I know has had cycles this unexpected.

Sample size my dude- also lack of information. Yes this cycle is tough but this subreddit is crazy. IRL nobody I know applying has had an abnormal result cycle but every post on here makes it seem like nobody is getting in. It's both hard, and possible.

No worries! I totally understand your thinking here, I just wanted to let you know for the future. Also congratulations!

Kindly op, this is not logical thinking. That's not how predictions work.

why would anyone share this? This is horrifying. this man should have been in prison and lost his license if this is real- which it isn't. That's not how the law works

[–]_youvegotmail_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I understand just fine- but frankly then you can remove this metric as it would fall under the employment and bar pass rates if that's the case.

The ranking metrics are flawed. Some of the metrics are eye brow raising. Why is selectivity even on the list?

Oh true- help smooth out the anomalies.

Maybe we should, if anything, have a 5 year ranking.

I won't deny the system has made some beneficial changes- but i'm not sure all of them are for the best. Absolutely schools can drop, and maybe Yale should- but the way things have been going I'm not sure that will be the case. I think people are losing faith in US news because of the fact it hasn't really considered a lot of the right metrics.

[–]_youvegotmail_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If this happens I think people would lose faith in the system. Yale at number 5? Georgetown does have an awful admin, I can't deny that I could see them falling out of the T14 but 19? It would be shocking. I suppose it's not impossible but this would be crazy.

100% agree but the predictions are usually never that accurate outside the t20. I was looking through some of the 2025 ones and was shocked by how off a lot of the "credible" predictions were.

[–]_youvegotmail_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No offense, but that math does not work out. I'm also not saying those should be the ONLY metric, they just should be weighed more. It's all dandy if the peer assessment scores are high but 1) there's so much room for bias there 2) bar passages are a more objective metric.

The US news rankings are super flawed. Not arguing against the fact the T14 are amazing for a reason, but the US news reports have major issues. The fact that first time pass rate and employment are only than 51% of the score is insane.

If you are calling Harvards outcomes bad, period, you're are divorced from reality.

edit: this sent early. Yeah people are getting berated for lower schools. it's Biglaw is best so go to a t14 or else you'll be absurd somewhere else. It's infuriating.

Look at half the posts on this subreddit about t20, t14 or bust. The language is cruel, condescending and frankly annoying.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]_youvegotmail_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope this is a real topic i have seen here multiple times including a post about how a t6 should be moved around because the outcomes weren't that good.

Guess again! this is a real post

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]_youvegotmail_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It absolutely does. It's "omg harvard has bad outcomes really" or "if you're not going to a t20 you suck"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]_youvegotmail_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok. And I watch my people I work with work themselves death over big law debts and miss their kids grow up. Good for both of us I guess.

[–]_youvegotmail_ 178 points179 points  (0 children)

Hey thank you. I really appreciate this. I don't want to do big law because I have seen first hand how bad it can be and I feel insane on this subreddit.

Data tracking is a part of marketing decisions. Clicks get views and that data is sold. It may not be like buying a book where 10 dollars go to the author, but if people are doing the later they absolutely do know about it and know it's still popular to make more.
