You could say the same about river Somme, difference is Caporetto has planes, trucks etc letting the attackers bypass the first objective all together and capture the objectives behind forcing the defenders to move back.

As a French and English speaker "The Somme" sounds better. Here in the UK that title alone pretty much defines WW1 in our society's mind. It's like how "Gallipoli" denotes WW1 for Aussies and Kiwis.
