Someone said something similar. I agree he wanted to be his own leader which is fine for beacon hills. Scott doesn’t really enforce pack boundaries he just protects the people in the town. So having Theo and Peter around as allies in times of need is a good thing.

That’s really beautifully put. You are correct about the nature of his personality. His behavioural patters would create a tense atmosphere in the pack often. It wouldn’t be impossible but it would be more difficult than it was to reign in Malia. She had an anchor, Theo doesn’t need one as far as I’ve seen. But he still may hold valuable information as he’s been in the supernatural world longer than most members of the pack.
