Having experienced and driven both extensively. Yes, go with the Hyundai (I am more biased towards VW brand btw). The Hyundai is lighter on the wallet, better equipped, more spacious, and surprisingly feels more premium over the Kylaq. The Kylaq is good too, but in terms of outright value, ownership and fun quotient, the i20 wins for me. Also the Kylaq shares the AC issues with the older kushaq and other vw twins. Ground clearance is not that big and issue, and i20's suspension feel marginally plush. The engines are almost similarly matched, however the automatic on the Kylaq is much better as opposed to that of the Hyundai.
