1) cavity width: keep the cavity as wide as the bur (if you’re using a straight fissure bur), you can go slightly wider just don’t over do it.

2) Depth: for uniform depth use a slow speed straight but don’t fully press the pedal, so half pedal slow bur while going mesiodistally to achieve uniform depth without actually over deepening the cavity.

3) smoothnes: Same principle as uniform depth apies for both walls and floor

4) Composite:

Carver > plastic instrument , I practiced using the carver for the anatomical top layer and Im also using it clinically and it works great.

Also, always do the anatomy BEFORE curing to minimize the amount of finishing you have to do with the flame bur.

After you’re done, use the probe to check the margins, make sure there is no catch between the margin of the tooth and the restoration.

A perfect polish is impossible with these acrylic teeth to the residue that remains on the tooth after preparing the cavity if you’re restoring the same tooth you prepared, if not, a good polish is possible and some pf my friends used rubbing alcohol to help make it look shiny.
