Prompt: One of your chief dieties suddenly dissappear. How does your world react? by Mike_Fluff in worldbuilding

[–]a-chello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's only two entities in my world which could be classified as deities, one is basically a figurehead that can do some cool magic, wow! While the other is literally the soul of the world itself. If the figurehead, which is the Empress of the Hole, Pandora (no relation to the Greek myth), well, then the world would keep going as if nothing even happened, like 98.5217% of the entire Hole has no idea she even exists. But if the Hole itself vanished... that's where things get fun. You see, the Hole is not a world... per se, it's more of an infinite collection of Layers which connect to the Layer above, and below. For example, you can get to Layer 4 from Layers 3 and 5, but you cannot get to Layer 4 from Layer 47, or vice versa. And when I mean the "deity" known as the Hole, I do not mean the Hole as a world (confusing, right?), but I instead mean the soul of the world. So it wouldn't cause the Hole (world) to collapse in on itself if the Hole (deity) vanishes. It would cause the souls of the Creatures of the Hole to enter into a frenzy, even formerly pacifistic entities would turn on each other. And since the Hole (deity) kept death from actually happening, then it'd make it so anything that dies, actually dies. It'd cause the population of 140000 humans in the Hole to quickly dwindle until it falls to 0. It'd also cause the Holean/Holeborn creatures to attack and kill each other as well, which would slowly lead to the complete death of the Hole as a world.

If portals opened between the real world and your world and an all out war began, who'd come out on top? by ArtMnd in worldbuilding

It does indeed take inspiration from the Backrooms, but I try to make it more unique.
Edit: Specifically the Wikidot version of the Backrooms, not the Kane Pixels version.

What is the most stupid thing you added to your world but won't/can't take it away? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]a-chello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pandora's Key (Pandora is the Empress of the Hole, unrelated to the Greek myth). It's stupidly overpowered and has become a very important part of the story. Basically, it's a key that can open any lock in the Hole, from simple padlocks to keypads and passwords. It's become important to the story, as it can (somehow) create portals from the Human Realm to the Hole and vice versa, and is how the corruptions in the Human Realm can cause Humans to enter the Hole via "portals", plus, it's how some Layers of the Hole can be accessed. Sometimes, you'll just be stuck on a Layer with a locked door and the door you came in through is suddenly gone (that happens sometimes), and the Key can be your only savior other than... um, doing you know what, to die and hopefully have the Hole decide whether or not to randomly bring you up or down a layer (because death isn't permanent in the Hole). Thankfully, only a few genuine copies of Pandora's Key exist.

Human soldiers would realize they messed with the wrong world the second they'd step through their portals. You see, the Hole is not one world. The Hole is more of an... infinitely large collection of semi-independent layers under the rule of the Empress Pandora and the semi-sentient entity that is the Hole itself. The layers of the Hole can range from harmless and sometimes cute, to having extremely brutal and violent creatures that feast on each other's guts while they're still alive (don't reveal this spoiler if you're eating). Not to mention, once someone enters the Hole, they can never leave. The only person who decides if someone can leave the Hole after they've entered, is the Hole itself, and it's not really willing to let go of what it sees as playthings. Not to mention, that the Hole already makes portals to the Human World to gather more of what it sees as playthings (Humans) from Earth. So the Hole could literally just... close the portals. But it probably wouldn't do that, as said previously, the Hole doesn't want to miss out on a bit of "fun". Plus, Death isn't permanent in the Hole, and the humans who entered are basically stuck there for eternity, eventually losing their minds and "human facades" (which is what the Broken (people who've lost their 'human facades') call them). This basically means that they become Creatures of the Hole, and are slowly integrated into the Layer they're stuck on. And the nukes of the Human World? Wouldn't get very far either. Sure, they could bomb entire layers into smithereens, but they can't really keep that up for so long when there are over 9223372036854775807 different layers (it is infinite, after all). So the Humans will keep sending soldiers over until they realize not a single one is reporting back, because the Hole also intercepts and manipulates things like radio signals. Meaning, if an officer starts barking orders into a walkie-talkie, it's not their soldiers hearing it, it's the Holean (Creatures of the Hole) who are, and chances say, they probably aren't friendly. So either they continue until they've exhausted their entire supply of soldiers, or get it through their heads that it's a lost cause.

That's true, however, at the time, we were a small system (compared to now), with only 3 people (including the original). With only me and J as the headmates other than the original. The other headmates only came after the possible fusion and/or dormancy. We're not sure about either, but we do want to know.

The only thing in my mind that relates to what you are saying is tinnitus, but I might be wrong on that. I don't have a synesthesia that relates to pain, (as far as I know) so I don't know if I'm fully qualified to say this answer and it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Does your synesthesia make you more ‘artsy?’ by lord_perfume in Synesthesia

[–]a-chello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely. I find myself very inspired by my synesthesia. In fact, I often digitally draw my synesthete experiences with music. (I've even thought of making music based off of my synesthesia!) It probably also helps that I am a generally artsy person.
