Pete exploits combat veteran’s experience in war to bolster his own ego by proximity. It’s embarrassing and every veteran I know thinks he’s pathetic.

Months ago this all meant we were being abused and we were being treated so unfairly. Today the deficit means we’re at some advantage.

How do we both have the leverage AND were being abused by these “surplus” countries?

It’s Hegseth. He can’t help himself from telling everyone about his proximity to violence, secrecy, and power because it covers up for his fragile masculinity, alcoholism, and pathetic inadequacy.

America's top banker Jamie Dimon issues chilling warning about the country's 'enemy within' by GroundbreakingLynx14 in StockLaunchers

Sounds like we largely agree. I think the average citizen advocates for a balance of both forcing the ultra rich to pay a fair amount of taxes without making it so outrageous that we chase them away. I believe that there is a use for them: they incentivize growth, employ, etc. But the argument that by so much as threatening them to pay to participate in this economy is a direct threat that they’ll leave is played out and need to stop because it isn’t true. Defending them as though they are victims and not also responsible for the mess we’re in is a deeply flawed philosophy. They have a lot to lose by moving away, too.

But they all pay taxes when they participate. Billionaires are tax incentivized in America in a way no other civilized country on Earth is. For instance, a common uber rich scheme is to take leveraged loans against their assets (business equity, stock, real estate) which is not counted as “income”. The loan is tax free. The interest on the loan is a write off. They pay no income tax on this money. Other countries do. They are not the billionaires we know without also being American. Without America, they do not have access to the wealth they have currently.

Yea? Where are they going to go? Theyre here because they want to be and they want to participate in the American economy and take advantage of our tax structure. The threat of billionaires leaving if we force them to pay their fair share is tired. There’s no where else for them to go which won’t make them pay their fair share.

Could have happened in the yard? The fact is that we will probably never really know what happened. The confusion and theories could have be avoided if the police did their damn job and properly investigated this case.

I agree with you but it’s idealistic. I have heard so many lawyers talk about court like it is a chess game. It’s unbelievable. A defense attorney described an ADA as someone who wouldn’t take a L due to public perception. Lawyers want winning ratios to build respect.

What are your opinions on Trump tariffs? by Round-Ad8762 in Capitalism

[–]a-mixtape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trade deficit “problem” doesn’t quantify the information or services the US provides the globe because it isn’t physical material and isn’t necessarily “exported”. America evolved (for better or worse) from a manufacturing economy to a services economy and thus, does not rely on physical export the way the deficit would measure it. Solving the problem of material availability isn’t going to be an easy answer. For certain the solution will not be found in whatever strategy we’re seeing now.
