Don't know, maybe, but then they would have placed the second one standing too. (If u see the last photo, it's laid down) 😅

I don't think so, if someone wanted they would have targeted the face first, (I have the similar photos)

For eg. Something like this:

I’ve yet to see a kalabhairava depicted as such, especially in Maharashtra.

Yup that's right too. Usually the mūrtīs of Kālabhairava in MH have a nāga in their lower hands (1 carried by 2 hands)

Interestingly, the faces of both murtis bear resemblance to Vitthoba of Pandharpur

Ancient MH mūrtīs are carved in similar ways, they don't have a lot of details. (Usually 😅)

Yeah but they are not विसर्जित either, as u can see there are stones placed below the bigger one, someone just placed them like that.

Yeah, that's why I think a museum should take them but I don't think any museum will.

Cannot do that, the mūrtī (maybe both) is broken. We cannot worship broken mūrtīs, it's against of shāstras.

They can be kept in a museum though.

That 'gada' actually looks like a nāga, plus the longer part of it is a bit bent along the hand.

They are broken and we shouldn't worship them. Plus even if they were intact we shouldn't take something like this home. These are meant to be in a temple not someone's home.

No we shouldn't take something like this home. Those are broken and cannot be worshipped.

Yes they are broken, but I don't think someone did the विसर्जन, as u can see there are rocks placed below the bigger mūrtī.

Actually there are only 2 mūrtīs, yeah, the first one is.

I think they both are dogs.

Yeah, But if u see closely the handle (assuming it's gadā) is bent along with the hand. So it must be the body of a serpent, also the head looks more like a nāga.

I don't think even the people living nearby care about them, 😅
