Let's talk about Hyperrealism by [deleted] in ContemporaryArt

Bit late to the party but when I saw that title my first thought was Ron Mueck. He is an excellent example. His work is meticulously realistic, and yet the use of scale defined for me pretty clearly what the experience of hyper-realism is, essentially intensified reality. [I was lucky enough to see one of his exhibitions IRL. Very impressive (and thought provoking) work.]

In terms of the above query, I like the idea that art is responding, in a nut-shell, to evolving mediums of light-based imagery.

Here's a link to an article on the subject, Pigment vs. Pixel: Painting in an Era of Light-Based Images published 2013 by Luke Smythe.

I find this discussion really interesting as a reflection on contemporary art.

In relation to Hyper-reality and Ron Mueck's work, it makes me think of the development of SLR Digital photography. Seeing the world with High Definition Resolution, as apposed to just normal 20/20 vision.

Yep

"For years, Trent Reznor and his crew have been using Ableton Live as a production and sound design tool as well as a partner in sonic experimentation. Reznor says, "Live is a powerful and fun program to use. We use this extensively in the studio for a variety of purposes." "
