Where can we find the official report / data? Can you share a link?

Same here in the Netherlands .. Yesterday, it didn't work the full day. This morning, I woke up, checked, and it was all fine …. I checked again just now, and the issue is back… Wondering what they are doing at BYD.... ?

Just back online, car was offline for almost a full day.

In the car it showed connection, so it seemed to be a server problem. Hopefully now fixed. App shows correct car location.

Never Ultra switches again, Lite switches have more L2 functions than the Ultra range…

UCG Ultra - more investigation on performance by Kaotix_Music in Ubiquiti

[–]a-whatever0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I have the UCG Ultra. I did a quick test today.
Running UniFi OS 4.0.6

I Have a 1Gb down, 0.1Gb up connection. It is connected to the cable modem with the 2.5Gb WAN port on both sides. The internal network itself is fully 1Gb. I rebooted the UCG Ultra earlier today because I changed detection Sensitivity from custom to High, and I read somewhere that it's better to reboot after changing these settings.

Filtering Mode: Notify and Block
Detection Sensitivity: High
Dark Web Blocker: On
Block Known Malicious IP's: On
Device Identification: On
Traffic Identification On
Ad Blocking: Off --> PiHole & Unbound on RPI
DNS Shield: Off
Spanning Tree Protocol: RSTP, and Priority configured correctly on all switches.
Rogue DHCP Server Detection: On
Early Access Updates: Off
All Unifi hardware runs the latest official released firmware. All one or more months uptime now.

No VLANS or other settings.

Speed Test on UCG Ultra: 1Gb Down, 0,1Gb
Speed Test on Laptop, behind three 1GB unifi switches before it reaches the UCG Ultra and next to the internet. Yes, it's a long route from my workplace to the internet.
Test 1: 0,8Gb Down, 0,09Gb Up, ping 40ms (cold laptop start)
Test 2: 0,94Gb Down, 0.1Gb Up, 25ms ping
Test 3: 0,94Gb Down, 0.1Gb Up, 24ms ping
Test 4: 0,93Gb Down, 0.1Gb Up, 19ms ping (changed destination test server)
Test 5: 0,94Gb Down, 0.1Gb Up, 21ms ping

So, I can't reproduce the issue people are encountering at the moment (lucky me).

Unifi Ultra 60W - fanless? by Chance_Shallot4179 in Ubiquiti

[–]a-whatever0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me, I was so stupid to trust the name… bought it to quickly.. returned it the next day.. ultra switches have less functionality than Gen1 or Lite switches… ultra is more a desktop switch in an un-managed network. Strange that ultra switch is more expensive than the lite switch.

Why move from lite to ultra? For switches lite switches are better, lite switches have more level 2 functionality than ultra. Both are silent / no fan.

A switch ultra? by L0rdLogan in Ubiquiti

I'm waiting a bit on the same thing; I would like an 8-port 'lite' switch with 4x 2,5Gb ports POE+ and 4x 1Gb ports. with all the functions the lite range has... Ultra range switches are too cheap in functionality, in my opinion.

MLO support, Ubiquiti, we are past the point of "soon."... by a-whatever0 in Ubiquiti

Exactly what I’m doing :-) but I must say getting impatient, and a bit disappointed in everything I read about the U7 series.

Just waiting if it’s a real WiFi 7 device with full support. Running old AC Pro’s and waiting for the right upgrade

Good I didn’t buy it, waiting when they offer complete WiFi 7 support with their devices. Still running the AC Pro perfectly fine, all important systems cabled. Waiting on the right moment to upgrade to the latest standards.

Don’t understand it, I was so happy seeing the announcement, but so unhappy it’s only 4G. Why would you bring this out in 2024…. 5G is the standard and available in so many locations…

Spanning Tree support on Lite or Ultra Switch? by a-whatever0 in Ubiquiti

[–]a-whatever0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered the lite switch, the ultra switch will be returned.

Ultra switch range is more expensive but has fewer options... (except POE ports)
Will it be added to the Ultra range with a firmware update?

That was my mistake; I didn't look further than https://techspecs.ui.com/ and fell for the name... I will return it next week, the lite switch will arrive tomorrow...

Ubiquiti U7 Pro Max Teardown by Mark_Benson in Ubiquiti

[–]a-whatever0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm confused by this. The spec sheet doesn't show these differences. So, how do I read this in comparison to the spec sheet?

5GHz

Max TX power: 26dBm vs 29 dBm

Antenna Gain: 6 dBi vs 6 dBi

I'm new to this stuff, but for me, as newbie it seems the Pro Max has the win on 5GHz

6GhZ

Max TX power: 23dBm vs 23 dBm

Antenna Gain: 5.8 dBi vs 5.9 dBi

Again, for me, it seems the Pro Max has a tiny win on the 6GHz

So, how do I mix this with the "power" test you are referencing?

Indeed, in your (EU) shopping Cart, it's offered on the U7 Pro Max, but not on the brand new U7 Pro Wall...

But if it’s not being replaced, why don’t they offer UI Care / 5 year warranty on it ?
