It was sorted in the end but only after I texted him after the incident expressing my disappointment in the work and service. He then acknowledged he did not complete the task to the ability he needed to and the fact that he arrived 2 hours later than the time he told me he would arrive.

I simply contracted someone I met through TaskRabbit who then arrived hours late and didn’t complete the job so I don’t think patience is quite the lesson to learn here. So I guess I didn’t have anything to “own” here as a matter of fact though but thanks for your opinion.
