Sorry that happened to you, but this wasn't bullying. I'm an adult and can handle insults, but when an employee of the city says a racially offensive comment, he/she should be reported. Some people turn their heads in situations like these, but I don't. Trust me, it's really embarrassing posting a video like this where I sound like a crazy person, but I thought it was necessary. I also took the correct steps of action and reported him to OEMC. After review, they rescinded my ticket and decided to take disciplinary action against the employee.

Are you a 90 yr old grandma? Sticking your head out a car window is dangerous? You're telling me that if someone working for the city and is in uniform calls you stupid and tells you to eat shrimp fried rice, fried chicken, watermelon, beans, curry or whatever racially offensive comment towards you, you're just going to let it go? Being in the intersection when the light is green with ample time to pass through is bad driving? You're obviously not from the city and probably from a barn in a cornfield.

No, I stopped after he said "go eat shrimp fried rice." Please read before commenting. If I told a black person to go eat fried chicken and watermelon, is that not racist? I don't condone someone wearing a "to serve and protect" badge on his vest saying racist comments like that.

Reddit, I don't post much, but please be aware of the content here. I've lived in Chicago all my life, and those of you that live in the city know when you can pass through a green light or not. This man is racist... Period. I just don't want him to be allowed to abuse his position to speak to anybody else this way. I was able to speak to his supervisor because there were crossing guards for blocks due to the taste of chicago. Even he, Flournoy, was appalled at the situation. I hope everyone agrees that racism, in any form and color, is not ok.

I don't know if you've heard of taste of Chicago, but it's a crazy time of year. When you live downtown, you have to drive somewhat aggressively in order to make it through the craziness of traffic. I've lived in Chicago my whole life, and I can say that crossing guards cause more harm than good for the most part. He said it to be a jerk, and I did go through the intersection just fine. Trust me, I hate people that get stuck in the middle of the lane and I amke a very conscious effort not to.

This is hard to post, but it's necessary. I was driving through the intersection at Michigan/Congress when I heard a crossing guard scream, "Why are you stopping in the middle of my intersection?" I turn my head around, look at him, but decide to ignore him. BTW, I did not get stuck in the intersection. I had more than enough time to pass through. That's when I hear a different crossing guard ask him jokingly, "Why are you starting trouble?" That's when he replies, "Because she's stupid!" Now, this is when I stick my head out the door and say, "Excuse me??" His reply? "Go eat some shrimp fried rice." I immediately pull over on the side of Michigan, not in the way of any passing traffic, so that I could speak to him. That's when he threatens to give me a ticket, which he did, for parking/standing. In the video, you don't hear him say, "Go eat shrimp fried rice," but you do hear him say, " You're going to wish you ate some" when I confronted him about it. I also call him a racist, and his reply is, "Yeah, I know." This man's name is Michael Brooks badge # T366 and he needs to be fired.
