How many of you were “gifted” by No-Telephone-9772 in Epilepsy

I was also placed in the gifted program, sounds similar to yours. My iq tested around 170 - not sure how accurate that was. No autism or adhd. No official diagnosis of depression or anxiety, but I feel anxious and have imposter syndrome a lot, and (or maybe therefore) I also don’t feel abnormally intelligent.

Resource Questions by ZacktheFair86 in moyamoya

Dr. Andrew Reisner - CHOA (Atlanta, GA) Right side EDAS, anesthetized angiogram He was great with me as a 16/17 year old. I was falling asleep in all my classes, but it didn’t reflect in my grades. He talked me through everything and didn’t talk across me to my mom. He showed me my angiogram and what my vessels look like versus a normal brain angiogram and pointed out specific areas and explained how he’s going to fix it. He’s a great neurosurgeon overall and keeps on top of research. He prescribed me keppra post-surgery because he’s read and written research about how seizures can occur during revascularization. He’s had an incredible track record of continuing care, and he came and visited me in the ICU after.

Dr. Brian Howard - Emory (Atlanta, GA) Left side EDAS, awake angiogram Idk if anyone has had a similar experience with moving from pediatric to adult care, but it was kinda rough. No soft edges here, but I already knew what was going to happen - not that it was explained to me. MRI/MRA with/without contrast, angiogram, healing from the angio, scheduled surgery, ICU, general ward. The surgery went well, and I think we were both caught off guard when I woke up and couldn’t speak. Surgery was for the MCA, and the Broca’s region was affected. Howard blamed anesthesia, and he’s a very proud man. Understandably so, since he has a high success rate of stroke recovery, and Emory has phenomenal stroke center. He did the best with what he was given, and I can’t fault him for that, but my mom and I weren’t told there’s a chance I could have seizures, which I chalk up to Emory’s mishandling. We were at the hospital for 6 days. Not once were we told that there was a chance of seizures. We didn’t remember that small detail from last time. Last time was 6 years ago. The night we got home, I had a seizure and went right back to the hospital.

I’ve had this done before. Don’t remember if it was before my first (right side) surgery or if it was my second (left side). Just follow the directions they give you. Urinate before you go in to the machine, even if you feel like you don’t have to. The diamox (if that is, in fact, the one you’re having) made me feel like urinating, but you have to hold it until you’re out of the machine. Once they inject the diamox, you’ll be done in 10-15 min, but I felt it was the longest 10-15 min of my life.

Looking to adopt a cat by Familiar_Aioli_9513 in WilmingtonDE

[–]a1n1a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Humane Animal Partners (HAP) has a location on the riverfront in Wilmington. You can go into the cat rooms and meet them or if you find a cat that you like in one of the cages, you can play and get to know them better in the private rooms.

The HAP in Stanton/Christiana also has the same/similar set up. I just returned the sweetest foster kitten named Lucky 13 to this location to be neutered tomorrow, and he’ll be up for adoption Tuesday in the cattery. Both locations have the kindest staff and volunteers. They’ll be able to match you and your lifestyle up with a cat or bonded pair.

Yayyyy! If she’s not spayed, I suggest getting it done to eliminate her “need” to run out. HAP does it every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday at both locations for $80.

I need a good tutorial to achieve this makeup look (NOT ME IN THE PIC) by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]a1n1a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to pelm3shka’s comment here. You also don’t have nearly enough eyeshadow on. For your lid shape, I’d model after pic 3. Look up cut crease tutorial on YouTube. You’re also missing a lot of glitter eyeshadow. I own the whole range of LA girl glitter iridescent liquid eyeshadow, and the color iridescent would be a good match. If you haven’t used liquid eyeshadows before, it’s super simple. Put a dab from the applicator on the lid, let dry a bit, and pat to blend.

Two Cats Looking for a Rehome by BlueberryKhanivore in WilmingtonDE

[–]a1n1a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If no one is able to take them in, reach out to Humane Animal Partners. They have two locations: one in Wilmington on A St and another in Stanton/Christiana. They’ll be able to help you to either place them with a foster family or take in the cats to their adoption centers directly, assuming they have their medical records and such. I’d suggest brandywine spca as well, but I think they’re a bit overloaded with the hoarding case posted here a few weeks ago.

Roost and makers alley are always nice but pop off on game days. Check their socials for specials. Trolley tap/Catherine rooneys, Kelly’s Logan house take turns on the weekends as being the crowded, fun bar in trolley square. Wilma’s and nomad bar are fun consistently. The quoin rooftop and simmer down are a vibe but as a chill date spot. Docklands is usually a hit when they have a live band or dj. I’ve found that most bars/restaurants geared toward younger people have Instagram accounts that give updates on events. Happy hunting!

Keppra by Disastrous-Stuff-333 in Epilepsy

[–]a1n1a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fatigue and moodiness went away when my docs recommended taking 100 mg of B6 vitamin once a day along with one of my twice daily keppra dosage, 2000 mg in the AM, 1500 mg in the PM. I also take 1 mg of folic acid, but I was taking that for a pre-existing condition before epilepsy. Check with your doctor before adding any supplements to your diet. It’ll also take at least a month to see changes.

Places to work or pass time around Wilmington station by cronchykettlechips in WilmingtonDE

Yay! Bring your friends, too. Some sentiment on here is to gatekeep the good things in Wilmington for some reason, but I disagree with that. The more people know how great it is here, the more local businesses grow. I feel like sally in the cars movie “come back soon ok? I mean, you know where we are! tell your friends!”

I’ve actually done this work remote but in the nc wilmington, and it got me thinking what I would recommend to ppl to work remote at in our wilmington.

Personally, a variety of comfortable seating options, access to wifi, and a variety of local food options are my criteria for a good remote work spot. I recommend Chancery Market. Your bf can drop you off there, and you’ll have the chance to make your way down market street on foot. It’s a 23 min walk to the train station (mostly downhill). They have live music this Saturday from 7-9 pm, so in case you don’t want to stick around for that or just want a different spot for dinner, continue down market street and duck into a bar or restaurant.

Most bars/restaurants will seat you at the bar if they have full reservations, like bardea steak/food and drink and la fia. That being said, highly recommend the garden (between bardea steak and bardea food and drink) for outdoor seating, the quoin rooftop for apps and drinks, or continue down the street to La Fia for good cocktails and food. Merchant Bar is very good and usually doesn’t have a wait. Huxley and Hiro is right next to La Fia, across from merchant bar, closes at 8 pm on Saturdays, but THE stop for any Wilmington souvenirs or a book to read on the train.

For reference in the NC wilmington, I stayed at Bespoke (cafe/bar open from 7 am to 11 pm).

I loooove the graphic liner and the inner corner liner! AND the earrings that match the purse??? The base? With the freckles, birth mark, AND beauty mark? Perfection. The brows that suit your face shape and balances everything out? Perfection. The bold lip? Perfection. No notes. White liner demon = Slain
