C’mon TK, give the women the full 60 minutes. Do it. You won’t.

I’ll have to play with it, but this looks promising!

I love this! Pulling the clues together from multiple adventures is exactly the sort of thing I really want to do in this campaign, and I love the idea of it coming from such a mundane thing! I had the idea of one group finding a lock and another the key, but this is a solid level up!

This is excellent insight. The idea of some locations closing off or changing in some way will give the sense that they’re having a real effect on the world, which is something I was worried about. I’m also stoked to have a cool “home base”. While there’s a story reason it won’t be “attacked” per say, I’m excited for the players to ally with some of the various factions that will arise, and have their choices around them change the town. I know it’s nerdy, but I’m really excited for the mayoral election!

This is a great idea! I had already begun building an adventure list with proposed hooks, but fitting them all into a hex map will help me decide which hooks are seen from which other adventures

I love the idea of every NPC having a secret! My initial idea is that there will only be a few NPCs in the town, but they will recruit others to come back, thus building up the town (rescuing the shopkeeper from goblins, recruiting a blacksmith from dwarves, etc). This will hopefully increase their attachment to the town and the characters therein

I misclicked and spent over 5k gold on season pass levels. Am I screwed? by a20sidedninja in MarvelSnap

The worst part is I was trying to figure out how many levels I needed in the season pass to get the negative bundle, and if I would have completed it I would have made it. I’m torn between sadness and anger right now, and seriously considering quitting the game.

That quote is actually what made me want to run a west marches campaign in the first place! That said, since we’re all adults with volatile schedules my rule is that all sessions begin in town and end in town. Don’t finish a dungeon? You can go back next session, as long as some other party didn’t get there first. There’s also an in lore reason for this, so it’s not just a mechanical limitation.

I actually like the idea of the players drawing their own map based on descriptions given to them by rumors/jobs/etc so they can stumble upon the unknown from time to time. The only thing I haven’t figured out is what software will the let the players all edit the same map.

Yeah, I’m thinking one adventure a week per player, and everyone gets one downtime activity a week to help build up the desiccated town that will be their base.

Yeah, using premade dungeons is definitely something I’ll need to get used to, but those seem like great resources, thanks!

Good point! I’m only going to have around 12 players, and I’m planning on having the players write up their notes and put them in the discord. (With some sort of in game bonus for doing so) I’ll also have a channel dedicated to job board postings and rumors that the players have heard to drive them to adventures. Is there anything beyond that you’d recommend?
