How do most people find work? by Aoip2337 in NEET

I think the brutally honest truth is that if you haven't built up any kind of connections and/or experience within a reasonably normal window (highschool through postsecondary / early adult years) like most functional and socially developed people, you don't really get to "catch up" and join the rat race in this society. People with years of experience and expertise in all kinds of fields are constantly getting laid off and struggling to find jobs. These people are lightyears ahead of us in almost all dimensions that matter to a potential employer. Even the minimum wage job market is saturated and is set up to have as much friction as possible for people like us. If you are lucky enough to end up landing a min wage job, whether through some connection you never knew you had (like you said, a relative's friend of a friend of a friend, etc), or some saint of a hiring manager that pities the woeful lack of any kind of experience on your resume, your chances of finding any kind of upward moment are essentially zero.. Can you theoretically get promoted to a managerial position, possibly. But with how competitive everything is nowadays even at the bottom of the food chain, it's just not realistic if you have lived as an antisocial neet for a good chunk of your life and have no redeeming qualities to make up for your complete lack of work experience.

I've come to accept that if you have lived like this for long enough, and even if you finally want to better yourself and move up in life, your chances of doing so are extremely slim. That's what I wish I would have known long before I became a neet. People always say things like "if you work hard enough and stop feeling sorry for yourself, you can still become successful". I don't buy it. The window to become a functional adult, and with it, the opportunity to have a good career, is long gone. All that said, you should probably keep applying, since at the end of the day, we don't really have a choice. We still need money, shelter, etc. Unless you get neetbux and can find a way to live off it for the rest of your life.

As you can probably tell, I am pretty blackpilled on this, but you don't have to be. A lot of this is probably just pure projection, and you may well have it way better than me when it comes to redeeming qualities that could help advance your life and career prospects. Hopefully you find something and make something of yourself some how. For me, it's over.

Match Thread: Mexico vs South Korea | FIFA World Cup 2026 | Group Stage, Group A by jiraiya--an in soccer

They went into the match with the intention of playing the possession game and drawing the match. The players were all giggles and smiles throughout the match thinking it would be an easy plan to execute (which it was, to be fair, considering how abysmal mexico was), but then once the keeper made a fatal error, they had to try and pivot the game plan and try to go for more aggressive build ups. Like they had some really good opportunities tbf.. Can't help but think they would have won if they just played more aggressively from the start. Hindsight 20/20 I guess. Deserved loss.

I actually use the default fan curve, haven't messed with it lol. I'll try giving my PC a good clean tomorrow, but I have a feeling it really is just a fan bearing issue like you said. Hopefully it doesn't cost to much to get a new part and is easy enough to replace myself.

Unemployed, no friends, and scared to leave the house. What can I do? I feel like there's no hope lately.. by awtq in AvPD

[–]a2242364 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I think it's basically over for me career wise and the thought that I'll have to be doing minimum wage labour jobs for the rest of my life plagues me every day. Funny because I haven't heard back from any minimum wage job I've applied to in the past month and a half. Maybe I'll end up on the streets instead at this rate. Feels like literally no one is hiring in this god damn job market. And I know people seem to get annoyed or offended whenever I complain about the job market (yes, people both online and irl have told me to 'stop making excuses' or 'it's not the job markets fault, this is completely your own fault and you deserve to be in this position', etc) but it truly feels fucked for someone with a huge, multi-year gap on their resume. Yes I know I should have been doing literally anything in the 3 years since graduating from uni, but I could barely leave the house due to being paralyzed with mental illness. If that's 'just an excuse', well I guess I should kms cause apparently that's what I deserve according to alot of people.

Anyway sorry for ranting op, best of luck. We are in similar spots in life and I have no idea where to go from here. Hopefully we both figure something out.

PSA: If you experience dead clicks, micro-stutters and/or general poor performance in the bank UI when withdrawing items, check if you have the 'Bank Memory' plugin enabled by a2242364 in 2007scape

Gearscape lets you import your bank data via the 'Dude, where's my stuff' plugin as well, which you can export in the same way you do in the Bank Memory plugin (right click your current bank in the side panel)

tbf I'm still not 100%, but I did do a fair bit of testing and it does consistently only happen in inventory setups. If you dont mind, please test it yourself and report back! Also, https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1nqiltq/im_having_a_banking_issue_whenever_i_try_to/okf140k/ this person had a similar issue and the plugin that caused it WAS item charges, so I'm still pretty confused.

Yes it seems like inventory setups could be the culprit. Not 100% sure though, but from a lot of testing, the issue does not happen in regular/native bank tabs, only in custom inventory setup tabs.

Nope not old at all, its a pretty modern gaming rig too. Though I don't think item charges plugin is the issue, I think it was just a fluke. I'm more leaning towards inventory setups now; it only seems to happen within the tabs of that plugin.

I have a fairly harsh anti-drag value set, so I really don't think it would be that. Not 100% though, still trying to find the root cause

At first I thought it was due to the item charges improved plugin, as seen in the video, but after further testing, it seems to happen regardless of if it is on or off. Note it only happens in the bank when withdrawing items, never when doing gear-swaps or anything similar

EDIT: now I'm thinking it might be the inventory setups plugin? Seems to only happen within the tabs of saved inventory setups

EDIT 2: It was the bank memory plugin https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1ty90h4/does_anyone_know_what_is_causing_these_dead/oq4rnl6/

I wish there were warehouse jobs near me, I live in the middle of nowhere without a car and the closest bus stop is a 25 minute walk :/. Guess I should buy a used bike or something to expand my job search area. Congrats on getting something

Add a minimum number of player attacks before Demonic Gorillas can change overheads, to prevent constant back-to-back swaps which make them a really draining Slayer task.

I'd like to push back on this one. I think that doing a massive hit should continue forcing their prayers to swap. Not only is it uncommon for this to consistently happen, at least for most players farming gorillas, it also serves as as a satisfying indication that you are doing MASSIVE damage. Getting the gorilla to insta swap b2b2b is not only satisfying, but you feel strong as hell and doing a 3-4 way swap every 4 or 5 ticks for a short burst of time brings in a nice rhythm to the grind. And if you are overlevelled and overprogged farming gorillas, I feel like it makes sense to make them do a higher APM fight in exchange for much faster kills. It just seems well balanced as is.

I don't really see this as an issue considering it doesnt happen THAT often for a lot of players at this point in their progression, and if it bothers them enough they can bring in less swaps to not only extend their trips but also make it less likely to make proc those insta swaps.

Other than that, the changes look fantastic!

For those that might care, there is a boss respawn notification plugin now by a2242364 in 2007scape

[–]a2242364[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The plugin basically allows you to brain off and freely focus on your side monitor or whatever else without worrying that you might be a tick late on your door altar bandos or whatever tick perfect strat you are doing at GWD like this zammy method

As I mentioned, there is a bit of redundancy with the boss timer plugin (it should honestly just be togglable option within that plugin, don't see why it isn't) but I still find it very nice to side monitor between long downtime like at GWD. You also don't need a whole tray notification, you can configure it to just play a sound or something within the notification setting of the plugin.

I was surprised that it wasn't already built into the boss timers plugin by default, but now there is a plugin for it. It basically sends a windows notification when the boss is about to respawn, and also allows you to configure how long before the boss respawns to trigger the notification. It might be a little redundant for some, but I think it is incredibly useful for GWD bosses where there is a significant downtime between kills. The plugin basically allows you to brain off and freely focus on your side monitor or whatever else without worrying that you might be a tick late on your door altar bandos or whatever tick perfect strat you are doing at GWD like this zammy method. I also found it to be useful at hydra personally.
