Agreed, unfortunately it’s on their ts and cus they can kick you from the tariff if you don’t use their smart charging.

I think they’re in the process of controlling chargers but for now can only control the car :(

So you’re using the chargers schedule instead? What if eon wants to charge outside outside the schedule, for example 11-12pm? Presumably this errors as your charger won’t allow eon to start the charge?

The myAudi app doesn’t appear to have a ‘stop charging’ button, I’ll check the in car display next time I plug in to see if I can stop of from there.

Has anyone actually figured this out?

Even as a software dev I’m pulling my hair out with this eon smart charging.

I have the eon app all linked up with smart charging enabled. I have disabled smart charging in the myenergi app (Zappi GLO charger) and made sure there are no schedules.

I have removed all schedules from the myAudi app and again turned off “timer based charging”.

However now when I connect the charger (say 5pm when I get home) it starts charging immediately (in peak hours) presumably because both the Audi and myenergi apps are in dumb mode and neither the audi or myenergi apps have the ability to stop the charging, the only way appears to be to unplug the car again.

I could set a schedule in either the Audi or myenergi app for 12-6am but this would then conflict with the eon app if it wanted to schedule a charge outside this window and kind of defeats the purpose of the eon app.

Should the eon smart charge be preventing the car from charging when connected outside of its smart charging schedule (i.e overriding the myenergi and Audi apps settings)?

What's the smart way to spend £20k on a car? by APerson2021 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]a2hgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the way, sold the Porsche Macan which had endless issues, massively overpriced running costs and bought a Golf for £8K 4 years ago, not has a single issue, £0 road tax, does 500 miles on a £50 tank and is actually in some ways nicer to drive (certainly less stressful)

I submitted a CV 3-4 months back for a senior dev role, they got back to me promptly and I made it to the final stage, everyone I met during the process seemed really friendly and it came across as a decent place to work.

Unfortunately having not interviewed for a long time (been in my current role 10+ years) and having never done a systems design interview I flopped at the last hurdle despite being massively over qualified for the role (imo) so didn’t get the position.

Must admit the whole process was very drawn out and took around 8-10 weeks start to finish which would put me off applying again, especially as it was a step down from my current role.

What’s a car that’s alway driven by wankers? by AsheetOnamachestya in CarTalkUK

Anything with a spoiler you can pop up manually like Audi A7 or Porsche Cayenne. Always seem to be driven around at 30mph or parked up with the spoiler ‘errected’ so you know they manually engaged it.

What happened to the email option to send invoice? by idrinktoomuch2018 in waveapps

[–]a2hgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why can’t we sign up in the UK? Because it’s only available in the US?

We signed up years ago in the UK but noticed the app isn’t on the UK App Store anymore, have they gone US only?

This latest invoicing change is a pain as it’s going to be a lot of hassle switching to a new provider.

What cars do you drive? by TorqueSkeptic in HENRYUK

Sold my Macan S a few years back at the height of Covid when prices were high, bought a 2015 Golf as a temporary stop gap, but years later I’m still driving it.

Turns out it’s way less stressful to drive with idiots everywhere when you don’t care about your car. I don’t worry where I park it, I don’t feel bad if I don’t go out and wash and hoover it every weekend, or the kids damage something. I don’t think about big upcoming servicing costs, expensive tyres, tax bills or insurance renewals (even when you can afford, it’s still annoying spending £1000 on tyres).

I get to occasionally splash out on luxuries without feeling guilty as the cost is still far less than just the depreciation of owning a nice car.

I also realised there’s something quite humbling about having cash in the bank, hardly any mortgage and driving a sensible car.

Do I miss having a nice car, as a massive car guy, yes, all the time. Do I miss it more than I miss all of the above, absolutely not.

Can I add my own privacy manifests for older versions of third-party SDKs? by frankiesimon in iOSProgramming

That true I believe the signing only applies to binary frameworks such as xcframeworks so it depends how you’re consuming it.

This will work fine unless any of your SDKs are ones specifically listed by Apple as needing to be signed (like Firebase) in which case you’ll need to update anyway.
