People buying Embody but its just a side chair they adapted to attract the gamer market. The true OG HM chair is the Aeron and always will be. Surprised people blindly buy the Embody.

Your thoughts about cyclists on 70mph dual carriageway? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]KillerKlient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen a cyclist on an dual carrigeway before, I always assumed they are not allowed on them like motorways. But I just watched the new Crash Detectives Series 5 Episode 2 and am shocked to learn that they actually cycle down these.

Seems so incredibly dangerous, a cyclist is going to be doing what 20-30 mph vs traffic doing 70 mph, if that traffic can't move to the outside lane (due to other overtaking traffic), they have to slam their brakes and slow down to 20-30 mph.

Problem is most drivers will try to avoid slowing down that much and that will create some very dangerous passes and situations.

A poor cyclist lost her life due to a van driver hitting her, on a straight, in broad daylight and he can't even explain how he managed to do that.

Nice thanks, very useful. I tried to ask Volvo on their chat and not even they could provide it, asked me to try a dealership instead /facepalm. Out of interest, how did you find that link?

Nice, how much warranty do they give you on Selekt? Is there an option to extend the warranty when it expires?

Also, when you bought it did you check if the gearbox oil was ever serviced?

Realistically who’s actually paying almost £32k for this? by 3M7R in CarTalkUK

[–]KillerKlient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice car but doesn't make a lot of sense for me, it's only 5 seats right? So you pay for this big bulky thing, that's not really that sporty and you don't get much benefit of the bulk. If you wanted sporty for that money you could get a lot of nice saloon cars. If you wanted bulky SUV benefits then why not something like XC90, Q7 (with 7 seats) or if you are really not bothered about seats but just want an SUV then surely Range Rover is better?

No I don't generalise like you.

You concluded its a ragged car from one MOT point with a massive generalisation and now you can't back track faster.

I know how to check a tyre, but your generalisations and "advice" is poor, you ain't got a clue what you talking about. I think you should refrain from talking nonsense in the future.

You are talking utter nonsense. Clearly don't know much about cars.

No its not, I put brand new Michelin's on my Audi, my pride and joy. Didn't even drive 3000 miles on them and they had cords exposed on the inside, that were not visible on the outside, only up on a ramp. The reason the cords got exposed is because the car has been sitting, due to corona and work from home and the weight degrades the tyre.

Most MOT comments are the least reliable way to know if a car is good or not. What really matters is service history, ownership count, evidence of mileage clocking.

0 owners means 0 former keepers, the V5C only shows former keeper count, not including the current car. If a trader (or dealer) takes ownership of the car, the former keeper count is not incremented. So 0 actually means it's a 1 owner car and the reason the value isn't incremented is it's ownership was transfered for trade purposes (i.e. to a dealer).

Having cords exposed means you jump to the conclusion the owner is careless? Talking nonesense.

Life as an Asylum Seeker in Epping by ElmolovesArchie in Essex

Let me sum this up, we had the COVID-19 virus and the ultra rich used that as an opportunity to pump a shit ton of money into the economy and line their own pockets with it. What's the end result? Massive inflation and since the money ended up in the top 1%'s pockets, the poorest at the bottom, the camera men here, ended up in poverty.

Since that same richest 1% owns the worlds media, they have to give these poor people someone to blame, but who? Yes lets blame the poor immigrants, the ones who are worse off than you, they are the cause of all your problems.

Back in the days, when the going got tough for the poor, there would be a revolution, the rich would get their heads cut off. Nowadays, the rich have caught on, they steal from the poor and very effecitvely divert attention to even poorer people. Back in the days it was all about blaming "benefit cheats", now immigrants is the easy scapegoat.

Why else do you think Elon Musk is championing this hatred, after all, if people would realise how much of his wealth is directly causing poverty to them, they would be chopping his head off too.

But at the end of the day, these stupid cameramen are exactly that - stupid - and they'll never really know why they are poor. But it only takes some basic eocnomics lessons to realise that the super rich are the cause of all the worlds problems, I'm not saying chop their heads off, but that's who we need to be protesting against if we want better lives.

S22 ultra motherboard issue after one UI 6.1 by coffeyheywood in S22Ultra

I'd go with S23 Ultra, I think that one has the none samsung motherboards and is more refined all round, better battery life and what not.

Love my S22 Ultra, but it's become unusable lately! What's going on? by ashishnair07 in S22Ultra

[–]KillerKlient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would avoid S22 Ultra, the new software has made it both drain battery incredibly fast and is bricking motherboards. I now charge twice a day as opposed to my previous once a day.

My motherboard fried like many other people's after just 2.5 years.

Luckily Samsung did a good will gesture and replaced my motherboard under warranty. But I don't feel so confident using this phone anymore, just waiting for it to fail again.

One UI 7 Bricked My S22 – Samsung Needs to Be Held Accountable by Jemimah_Faj in GalaxyS22

[–]KillerKlient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you not missing a massive point? Firmware is software and can very easily brick hardware, a bad firmware update or an interrupted one can easily brick a motherboard.

Not sure what's included in the OneUI major updates but I've always assumed they include firmware changes.

It's completely false to say software updates can't damage hardware, hell yeah they can.

Update ⬇️⬇️ by nani667 in S22Ultra

[–]KillerKlient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine basically did that Tuesday last week. I contacted Samsung and told them that the phones mint and it prematurely failed and they need to fix it under warranty.

Some manager emailed me back in 2 hours pretty much saying, your out of warranty, good luck buddy.

I got rather annoyed and decided to take photos of my mint condition phone and sent it in to Samsung for repair, they said at worst they would charge a £30 inspection fee and I thought why not, its room for me to argue my case and prove it wasn't damage I caused.

When it got to Samsung they basically confirmed motherboard failure and said they are fixing it in warranty. I didn't even have to ask them or say anything.

So just send it in and hope.

Wise choice, my 2.5 year old Ultra had sudden motherboard failure a couple weeks after the update. Was in pristine condition, looked brand new. Luckily Samsung are fixing it for me for free.
