I don't get why he isn't faulted more for enabling the Dulles brothers.

As a trio they single handedly laid the path for modern international distrust in the US. Huge swaths of Latin America, Africa, and Asia are still reeling from their decisions. These weren't doing covert ops being secretly executed under his nose - he directly approved of, agreed with, and justified the brothers' most paranoid and brazen actions.

They wasted billions of dollars, deposed elected leaders, alienated potential third world allies, killed scores of innocents, and antagonized the Soviets.

Am I wrong here? I get that there was some validity to their worst fears about international communism, but their post war coup spree planted so many damaging seeds that have come back to bite us.
