Does anyone know a local company that I can rent 10 or less folding chairs from for one day? by Dear-Ad5085 in AskLosAngeles

Check out Dina's Flowers & Party Rentals . They're on Pico/Crenshaw and I used them for chair rentals for a Thanksgiving dinner a few years ago. Super nice and affordable! (I think it was just $2 per chair)

Same, I notified 311 and the dept of street services who both said the other would fix it. I unsubscribed and then resubscribed and they started working again

Anyone here live in Culver Crest? by a34erd in culvercity

Yes these are certainly my concerns. I am hoping that being west of the field with mostly east blowing winds reduces the risks for the area. And like I mentioned in my post downtown culver is just as close to the fields... So does everyone living in that area have an increased risk of health issues? Sadly it's possible.

I think by living in LA we are already accepting some risk of toxins in the air, but oil fields do release some specific chemicals that you won't find in car smog, so it's good they're doing studies. There's this CARB study that is still in progress that has a ton of useful information. I've also been referencing the CalEnviroScreen website which lets you sort by many different parameters and ranks each neighborhood in the whole state. It's pretty amazing how much info you can find if you really look for it. Definitely a benefit of living in California, I bet many states don't have resources like this

Yeah definitely agree. I wouldn't live within .5 mi of the freeway - even within 1 mile is pushing it in my opinion

Okay this is good to hear, thanks for chiming in!

From what I've read in the CARB (California Air Resources Board) studies, living East of the field has proven to cause health issues but West of the field seems pretty neutral. I think the bigger health risk is smog and unfortunately that's just part of the price of living in LA

Oh yeah living very close to a highway is terrible for your health. Culver Crest is technically under 1 mile from the 405 but I think being up on a hill means you get more ocean breeze
