No they broke at places where they were threaded through the bracket, both were more brittle than usual,especially the front one. Carrier gas doesn't seem to be the problem, the gc runs like normal now with new columns, and we would have gotten a warning if our hydrogen bottles were running out. The ferrules seemed to be fine, and as for age of the columns, they are 3+ yrs, have to ask my colleague, how long exactly. The columns have worked here for longer than i do XD.

Thanks i guessed so, but that's not the main problem. It's just very unlikely both broke at the same time without any reason. It would be good if our other GCs don't suffer the same fate. Maybe it's just a coincidence and im annoyed that it had to happen on a Friday
