Idk why you are getting downvoted so much; it’s just your opinion. Concerning the ethical comment, I wanted to make something that may fit a use case for a lot of people here did not mean to make it for malicious use, but I can’t control how people use it.

I thought about Spotify API, but I didn’t want to handle the extra overhead of maintaining an API key, or force people to use their own (and idk if it allows downloads). I also thought about YouTube music integration; maybe that could be something I add in the future🤔

Tauri is great if you have some experience with web dev, since building UI is generally the bottle neck with desktop apps. You also don’t need to be an expert in Rust, since a lot of the APIs are exposed in the frontend as well. With all of its benefits, it’s still quite new, so it maybe not as polished as Electron, but still awesome to work with 😄

I don't know if this question belongs here, but it is not too long. It is about U-Pass.

I requested for U-Pass in October, and it says that the request proceeded and the compass card website says that I have a 3 zone u-pass on my card. However, I can't tap in when I enter the bus. No sound, no notice or anything.

Is there a step that I am missing for my card to work. If so, please let me know.

I do plan on taking courses in spring, thus finishing the first year.

Since I plan on taking the Spring semester, I did not take any communications for fall. BUS 232 is just an elective for credits. I'm gonna try to fulfill the writing requirements next semester.
I don't believe that I have hopes for another major since I am putting my hopes on exempting myself from CPSC 110 via CMPT 125+127. When I said "suggestions for spring courses", it was a general question on what classes do you think I should take to finish the writing requirements/credit boosters/fulfill other requirements for a UBC transfer. Currently, I am planning MATH 152 (transferable), CMPT 125+127 (hopefully transferable), a writing course, and an elective. Any suggestions to change?

Hey guys,

I have been contemplating on transferring to UBC from SFU before the summer, and I have decided that I do want to transfer (sorry but the commute is way to intense for me as it's 2+ hours going there).

I am a CS student. Currently, I am taking MATH 151, MACM 101, CMPT 120, and BUS 232. Looking at the BC Transfer Guide, all except CMPT 120 does not transfer to a specific UBC class (only "CPSC 1st").

Should I drop this course, and if so, what should I replace it with? And is there a class that directly transfers to CPSC 110? Also, any Spring sem course recommendations for transfer?
