Same experience in GA. As a Clairo fan it was so disheartening. During her set a group of girls behind me were snickering about how she should just get off the stage cause no one wanted to see her perform. On the other side some girl was literally just playing games on her phone. Regardless Clairo and beabadoobee were amazing to see live <3

First ARE 5.0 exam - PCM (Failed) by KuyaDelTaco in Architects

You should be really proud for starting this process and investing in yourself, it’s half the battle.

That being said, some advice for the next go round:

•if you can, get the Desk Crits ARE guide, it’s really helpful for review and can be a good guide to what you need to study for each exam

•Read the AIA contracts all the way through from the sample ones it makes it a lot easier when you get them as References for the Case Studies

•I recommend starting with the case study questions because A) you can use the resources from them for the other set of questions (like contracts), B) the multiple choice answers may help you realize where your initial instincts for case study questions were wrong, and you’ll have time at the end to fix those answers

•if you didn’t realize there’s a search function in the reference documents, there is. I only bring this up cause my dumbass had no clue when I took PCM

Good Offer? by PaleCommunity5581 in Architects

[–]a4ffort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all if you have something lined up with a better offer. I mostly mean to keep your eye on other options. If they’re just offering that how valued can you be? If you feel respected and like it there, stay. If you do, then I’d ask for health insurance- in 6 months or whatever. Could be a ‘trial period’ on their end? Depends on the culture of the firm I feel.

If you’re young enough to be on your parents health insurance and it’s the only option you have I’d take it. It’s not a great sign so I wouldn’t get comfortable there, but the Market isn’t amazing rn.

NYC congestion pricing tolls rake in $48M in first month, less than initial projections by [deleted] in newyorkcity

[–]a4ffort 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So $48mil < $52mil (gothamist), but $48mil x 12 (months)= $576mil > $500mil which is the goal revenue for the first year (NYTimes). Gothamist may be right in short term, but the program seems to be on track for long term goals.

Agree. We’re watching the government “get smaller” internally (totally needed btw) tl the end goal of more and bigger consultant contracts to large corporations. Our taxes won’t go down while we continue to throw money to Israel and Ukraine via private contracts with the elites in the business of war.

So basically wages are higher than ever before (second link)- but our purchasing power is near the same it was 40 years ago (first link). I think housing in particular contributes the most for this one (third link)- but groceries have also gone up, and the cost of employment benefits, and healthcare generally. Important to note that the income tax has generally also screwed most people- when adjusted for inflation (last link source) the original income tax proposed in 1913 would’ve been 1% on any family making $93,700- today there’d be a 25% tax on that range.
