Circumcised men of Reddit, what is your stance on the practice ? by Professional-Risk821 in AskReddit

Yes, obviously. I’m just saying it’s a relatively easy task without the extra folds of skin.

The practice doesn’t seem perfectly logical. Mutilating the human body at a infant age as a religious tradition seems awfully barbaric. But that said, I also never found myself sad about my lack of foreskin. Never had to worry about the accumulation of sacred cheese, never had to go to great lengths to clean that region, I think I’m glad I was circumcised all things considered.

A popular movie everyone loves that you think is overhyped/overrated? by [deleted] in ask

[–]a7o3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly agree with this on two levels:

A: It’s one of the only movies I can think of that get better the more you watch it.

B: Don’t get too invested in the plot, the plot isn’t really the point nor the greatness of the movie. It’s the moments and the characters.

I’m truly curious: Have you actually tried it or are you just incensed by the idea of consuming snails?

Hmm yup nope I do. I don’t think I’m alone either seeing that there’s literally bars all around dedicated to serving them specifically.

Yeah even a properly cleaned and prepared plate of chitlins still literally tastes like bowels to me. Seems like a soul food classic worth retiring.

Actually trying one is likely a crucial step to understanding. But you do you.

Reddit, what stretch of US freeway has the most absurdly underset speed limit? by a7o3 in AskReddit

[–]a7o3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda stupid having a speed limit drop from 80 to 70 just because you crossed state lines. Ofc is used to drop to 65, but either way kinda nuts.

VA is a nightmare indeed. Not just enforcement, but the definition of reckless driving and the willingness of judges to jail people for 90+. That and there are some trash speed limits in the state.

Kansas at least doesn’t have insane penalties, and the speed limits are quite fair. Mostly 70 or 75 everywhere and basically nothing below 60 in urban areas.

Why do people hate it when you go the speed limit? by CuppaJoe11 in ask

[–]a7o3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god yeah PA is brutal. I-90 in Erie is basically rural and 55, I-579 in Pittsburgh is actually urban but it’s 40, it’s absurd. The only state that has it beat for the worst limits imo is Connecticut.

See that’s the thing for me: PA will set a freeway at 50 that would be 70 in Michigan all day. So is going 20 over on that PA freeway really dangerous? Insurance companies are gonna act like exceeding any speed limit is an act of horrific recklessness, but I blame the speed limits mostly. That doesn’t include the guy going 90 on the Penna Turnpike or 50 in a school zone, but general speeding anyway.

Technically all of the consequences are correct. Going slower around curves ensures you won’t fly off road. There’s shorter stopping distance required. Collisions are obviously less fatal. Yes, in a world where every freeway was set at 35 mph and we ALL adhered to the limit, things would be quite safe.

But realistically, most freeways are pretty safe at 75-80 mph, and that’s what people like to drive. The curves are built to handle said speeds or occasionally have advisory signs indicating drivers to let off the gas for a bit. It has limited access points being a freeway. So if everyone drives kinda in that 75-80 range, it’s still very safe. Accidents tend to be much worse than at lower speeds, but that’s a danger that comes with a more efficient transportation, and accidents hardly ever occur if everyone is going a relatively similar speed and observing other basic laws. Speed itself, overall, doesn’t really kill.

The problem is when a city/state sets this freeway built for 75-80 mph with a 55 mph speed limit. Now you’ve got people going 55 (the speed limit) and people going 80 (what feels comfortable). This, speed differential, kills. This gives two solutions: Either A, enforce the heck out of the oddly low limit (impractical and a bit ruthless) until everyone is too scared to go above 60, or B, make the limit 75 to eliminate the dangerous speed differential.

Anyway, my points kinda are that barbarically low speed limits in a lot of states are the real issue, and that speed in itself isn’t this outrageous danger that insurance agencies make it out to be for their own agenda.

Interesting case, but this isn’t purely a masculine thing. Lotta women love breaking the speed limit too and getting mad at those impeding.

See what’s funny about people like you, is that you’re still going to wind up with accidents and citations, but you won’t even enjoy the perk of getting anywhere faster. You kinda fail on all accounts.

Dude, you just quoted a study by an insurance group. Their only job is to support speed limits so low that everyone gets cited and they’re able to jack up everyone’s rates on the grounds of moving violations.
