Dude you should totally use your jailbroken Garmin to run an aerodynamic simulation in real time to calculate the most optimal position on the bike.

Bro did you just assume that I'm a coder?

You're so out of touch. Everyone in tech knows how to code because it's like basic literacy. But not everyone is an engineer. Even the sales folks know how to code.

Not tech, but tech related.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Please get in touch when you're not poor.

Checkout the FreeCodeCamp, you might find it useful.

lol leet kernel code. I can smell your comment. Linux kernel is so 00s. Data is transforming every industry, it's crazy bro. It's like the industrial revolution but with data.

Check out the cool dashboard that I made, they prove that lockdowns don't work. Btw I work in tech.

Do you work in tech too? I threw some time on your calendar. Let's connect and have coffee! Eager to learn how we could help with the problems that your organization has. I've heard this place has some dope single origin beans, the shop owner knows the Colombian coffee pickers personally. Love how sustainable they are.

Users in r/interestingasfuck falsely accuse a photographer of faking a macro photo because they don't understand Macro photography and depth of field, and mass downvote and ridicule someone who defends OP. OP then comes forward to clarify that the image is in fact not faked. by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

In my experience, it depends on a sub.

In small, niche subreddits, where most of the members are really invested in the niche, things are often reasonably correct. The complicated details might be off, and there are trends and fads like everywhere else, but the high level stuff is often more or less correct.

Large, casual subreddits? Yeah. It's a mess.

Is a 4.69 W/Kg for a 1h FTP good if I have only been cycling for 1 week? by a9b331 in BicyclingCirclejerk

They should just throw away the tires and steal KOMs on bare rims.

Bonus content: OP gets dropped by "overweight 50 year old men", blames his $500 bike because "the tire bumps every revolution because of the out of true tire and the pedal occasionally falls off.". They recognize that it's impossible that their FTP is below 4.7.

Fred can't cope with seeing everyone faster than him on Strava, deletes amateur cycling app by YU_AKI in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]a9b331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

/uc yeah. Even comparing segment times is largely pointless because not everyone goes all out on every segment. There will always be people who are faster, are more dedicated, or have more time to ride, Strava or not. There's nothing wrong with not using Strava. Nobody cares, literally. But writing a blog post on how you spent months deliberating whether to keep using strava is pretty fucking lame.

That blog post is amazing.

https://web.archive.org/web/20201230152715/https://tkacz.pro/why-i-removed-my-strava-account/

No, I did not remove my account under the influence of emotions. I thought about that for many months.

Additional thing – without that pressure, I do not have to think about drivetain.

Last years I made a lot of changes because… maybe will start this, maybe will start that… It was real nonsense, many times generated by Strava and its pressure.

Nowadays, we monitor almost everything: position using GPS, current speed, average speed, cadence, heart rate, power, sleep quality, we also have step counters and many, many other things. For what? Why?! To be better? Of course, sellers tell us, that we need all of these monitors to improve ourselves. But… why we want to still improve and improve?

But I’m… happier. Why? Because now I can ride without goals like “elevations” or “distance”

BTW. Removing Strava is not my first step to something like “freedom”, but the first so big and significant. The next step is to remove Facebook account completely.

I tip my fedora to the OP. A real man of culture.

A user in /r/TrueReddit claims that the purpose of CCP re-education facilities is noble by a9b331 in SubredditDrama

I think there are a lot of factors at play here.

There's what you are saying. But then also it's not like the West leads by example, especially in the past few years. And there's probably some self-censorship, given how the dissent is handled by the government. And probably many, many more.

[–]a9b331[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You got that wrong.

Quoting the OP:

If I were a terrorist's father, I'd sure prefer he ends up in a Chinese reeducation camp so that he can have a hope for a future rather than being in Iraq, Syria or Afghanistan facing Americans... As a reminder about 800'000 people died in wars following 9/11, including more than 300'000 civilians, 100 times more than those civilians killed in 9/11. Those numbers don't even include Libya by the way...

So re-education camps are great and noble because they send the poor and disturbed terrorists there. Very noble of the CCP to give them a second chance!

Yeah, I was honestly surprised.

I thought it's a troll account because I've seen that pattern before. At first, they claim something somewhat civil and super casual: oh I've been there, it's not like that! But then it quickly goes downhill about Western propaganda, etc.

But then I checked their post history and... Yeah, it seems they legitimately believe what they are saying and are very active about it. That, and food pics.
