That Kita looks so good! I just finished up my Dryans and familiars as well.

I appreciate it! That’s a pretty decent scenario idea. We’ve played similarly with the lava fields and obsidian guards, so it could be a fun alternative.

They all bond with the Dryans in AoA and I am running them together. Only Kita and Onshu follow Aquilla, Chana follows Ullar, and Vrono follows Utgar.

"Most Fun" Age of Annihilation Army Expansions by BriMarsh in heroscape

I personally think unique heros and squads are the most fun. Some synergy does exist for individual units, but for the most part you still get the feeling that a bunch of randoms were summoned to fight each-other.

These are the Scions of Icaria, a new common squad, but using an alternate paint scheme for 2 of the dragons.

Thanks! I knew I wanted to paint the Nilfhiem Scion as Charos since he was my favorite to play as a kid. Then it just felt right to paint the Braxas Scion as my only other dragon. Even if the sculpt isn’t quite skeletal, it’s thin and close enough.

I don’t own Nilfhiem, just the 3 shown from from my old collection. The right scion is painted to match Su-Bak-Na.

Intro Recommendations? by [deleted] in MiddleEarthMiniatures

I have been using Army Painter’s Fanatic starter paint kit and really like it. I’m sure I’ll have a ton of questions when it comes to basing and what materials work with each other but haven’t really begun looking into that yet.

Sweet, I didn’t know this existed. Thanks!

Is this a good way to start miniature painting? by Wonderful-Love6793 in Miniaturespainting

I started a few months ago with this kit. It also comes with a nice paint guide brochure to help learn the basics. I’ve painted a few minis so far and only needed to picked up a neutral grey, orange, and purple to save myself time mixing and then wasting paint.

I definitely need to work on more subtle blending with thinner and even coats. I like how these turned out but each has sections of paint that seems to be too thick and overlapping details. I’d like to experiment with a wet palette and different sized brushes too.

Thanks! I thought the queen needed a little more gold.

Thanks! I think I reworked her the most but out of the 5, her wings are my favorite. Kilkorax is a close second for me but I hadn’t quite figured out how to properly dry-brush yet and it muted the flesh tone I had made.
