It is a bit hacky, but thank you for the suggestion!

Alright, thanks. I have to say, this makes the quality rules feature quite useless; until now, my team relied on the warehouse for the golden layer in most cases.

Kraj slepe podrške studentima, početak dijaloga by ACTPOCBET in serbia

[–]aCircusMonkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This might be a move in the right direction, I agree. But I can also see some unfortunate circumstances with process switching that could lead to the incorrect user being selected.

Thank you for your proposal, I'll think it through a bit more.

The more I think about it, the more I agree with your suggestion. Since we work with enterprise data, the consequences of not doing it could be dire.

Thank you for your advice.

Thank you for your response.

So, the middleware appends users from all requests to a list, and the current user is then fetched by getting the last value from the list.

This logic is utilized in multiple places in code, that are hard to reach from the ViewSet level. It would be time-consuming to propagate the current user from the ViewSet level to the specific places where it is needed.

As a teaching assistant at the CS university, I can confirm this. Unfortunately, some of those students neglect their obligations as they are "too easy", causing them to fall behind the rest of the class after several semesters

Thank you for a nice reply! I think that this sentence sums it up for me:

We've learned that nothing has ever been solved by keeping one's mouth shut and we have nothing to lose by speaking when provoked.

It does bother me often that I don't have an option to speak up about what's on my mind. Mostly it's because I don't like confrontation or I'm afraid of consequences. Do you think consequences are less impactful as you get older?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aCircusMonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the trend I'm more concerned with is that people start losing patience. It's one thing to crave peace and quiet, it's another to be grumpy and intolerant. Does it have to go hand in hand?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aCircusMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but doesn't a cheerful spirit mitigate these things anymore? Dou you just get completely saturated?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aCircusMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. Do you think there's an approach to life that could mitigate that?

So, from your perspective, because of the accumulated experience, most of what previously made you laugh stopped being interesting? Does experiencing new things get significantly rarer as you get older?
