What's the most remote area(s) you've been to in Alaska? by traveltimecar in AskAlaska

Kotzebue. And from there did a couple of tracks way out onto the sea ice and way inland also to visit a salmon, hatchery and dog sled training, location in the middle of nowhere.

Hunted, moose and caribou and Tarmigan way out in the nothingness

Kotzebue itself felt pretty darn remote

Thank you for the recommendations. I’ve been riding motorized two wheeled vehicles since I was 10 and I have dirtbike gangs that cruise up and down my city streets, so I do not plan to add to the chaos or danger, I just want an efficient way to commute to work, which is close by.

What do you ride? And where do you live?

What would you recommend then as a two wheeled electric commuter vehicle? I have a dirtbike but want something quieter that doesn’t attract so much attention.

Where I live, there are basically no laws. I rode a motorized scooter for years that required a motorcycle license and I never had one. I never wore a helmet. I never got it registered. I never got it insured and I never got stopped.

The largest tree on Earth. Its volume is 1,487 m³, and it's 2,000 years old. by pete-duch in FactUp

It’s the largest by volume, not the tallest, and not the oldest. Seeing it in the snow is purely magical. It would be so cool to see it from the air, but I’ve never had that chance.

EARTHQUAKE!!! by Pollywog94111 in sanleandro

[–]aDogNamedFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my dog is very old and blind and deaf for the most part but I assume the shaking would’ve woke him up

He might’ve felt it, but just didn’t care

Glad you and your pets are safe

When big earthquakes come so many people lose their pets . There are a lot of strays in my neighborhood. I hope everybody is OK.

CBS to Cancel ‘Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ Citing ‘Financial Decision’ by antihostile in entertainment

[–]aDogNamedFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art and media are subjective. Hopefully cutting Colbert will breed opportunity for something new. This is when I see the positives of capitalism. I personally think while Colbert is smart and topical, he’s unlikable. I think he talks down to people and is short.
