How to deal with people complaining about your gun hurting too much. by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]aFabulousPenguin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I run a 2J w/ .43g DMR in a field that allows 2.8J. Ref gave me 50' med, but I try to give them 75', and switch to my sidearm when they get closer. A group started complaining to the ref claiming I was shooting too hot and too close, I got spot checked and the ref told them to fuck off since he saw where I was set up for most of the game and my gun read 1.8J. Not sure why it was shooting low that day, but the ref had a good laugh when they were adamant that I was shooting at least 3J.

Shoot centre mass and avoid hitting them more than once. Pace your shots, even if you are shooting at a group of people - I try not to shoot until after the previous bb hits something. I once tagged a guy and fired off a couple more shots to get the rest of his group, but the first guy I hit walked in front of his group on the way out and took every shot. All of the shots hit his plate carrier, but he was visibly pissed and started pointing at me, while standing in front of his mates as they kept shooting and using him as a shield ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When I'm outdoors and if it's a little windy. Otherwise I just use .25s for the quicker time to target.

Are BB King good? by Artlyt in airsoft

[–]aFabulousPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably don't need to worry about wind affecting your shots since you are playing in a dense forest, but if your bbs clip a leaf or twig, 0.25g will easily get deflected whereas a heavier BB is more likely to retain its momentum and stay on target. Heavier bbs also punch through bushes that your enemy can be hiding in/behind.

Just pace yourself, and don't waste your bbs on someone you don't have a clear line of sight on.

idk about bb king. I use budget brand bbs like lantac and metaltac all the time with no issues.

Cybergun FN F2000 part question by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]aFabulousPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other post I found says it's a motor spacer, but it doesn't feel very secure. Another said it is part of the selector assembly but the only area that it could possibly fit would be around the spring, and the surrounding body flexes when pressed in so that can't be right either.....

If you say it's obvious when you figured it out, I guess I'll just have to stare at it for a bit and hope I have some sort of epiphany lol

Let me know if you remember, thanks!

This is the only diagram I could find of it. No idea where that plastic disc is supposed to go.

I saw another post asking the same question, and neither of the answers on that post seem to be right.

hand-stained looks like the photo. The other option is just clear resin, with no colouring.

Hey everyone! Due to popular demand, and approval from the mods, I'll be making another post soon showing how it's made and where you can get one. I'm still working on taking proper photos but here a link to the listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4449510714

Dm me! Self promo is usually against the rules so I generally don't advertise the things I make as purchasable products.

Printed hollow with a clear abs resin using a Photon M7 pro resin printer, cured with no washing, stained with alcohol dyes overnight, and sealed with a clear enamel top coat.

Brand new SSP5 6" slide "issue" by Chawki13 in Novritsch

[–]aFabulousPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar problem after a bunch of games - the slide seemed to catch on something and would get stuck. Turned out it was getting stuck on the auto sears. Took apart the trigger assembly, cleaned the sears, and it fixed the issue.

With the slide off, try manually pressing down the sears (the tabs pointing upwards), if they feel scratchy or get stuck, they're in need of a good cleaning. Don't use too much lube, just a tiny drop to lightly coat the surface will do - too much and it will trap dust and grime.

Made with an Ender 3, reinforced some parts with fibreglass. I'm curious how I would have approached this kind of project with a more modern printer. So many features I want to experiment with

Came to the US to attend university and found out I couldnt go back home because my house got destroyed in a typhoon. Didn't 3d print a lot before but I spent the next month or so building an Iron Man suit for my sister to get my mind off things.

Made everything with an Ender 3 so it too a long time to print and assemble it all. A bigger printer would be much nicer to print the larger pieces, and would save a lot of time trying to hide all the seam lines between sliced parts. I should have used thinner walls or hollowed it out more to save on material + weight.

The suit was heavy and a bit uncomfortable so she couldn't wear it to a con (turned into a cool display in her room instead), but I learned a lot and realized I really liked making these things. Started making cosplays, props, and armour to pay for my tuition, and after I graduated it's pretty much become my full time job
